I'm 36, I prefer the assigned seating. Although I had GA for the 2000/2001 Vegas show and the 1st 2 Hammerstein shows.. But in a hockey areana GA is too large of a scale..Go w/ seating..Hopefully they play Nassau Coliseum on Long Island..It's a smaller arean than the over-rated MSG. Not a bad seat in Nassau Coliseum.
Right there with you.
I'm 35. When I was 15 (or even 25)...I woulda taken floor every SINGLE time. It was worth the pain and the adrenaline rush from both being that close, and the energy of the crowd, was just AWESOME.
But now? I prefer a seat. I don't have to elbow, push, shove, mosh, and generally get the crap kicked out of me for 3 hours (or more) and I don't have to turn into "Riot Cop" to hold a spot. I know where I"m going to be, and what view I'm going to have. It's just a lot more enjoyable.

thought that was too good to be true.
So you need 2 tickets for that or maybe in msaxl43's place they have special tickets that cost double.
You want your tickets to say "GA-Floor" or "General Admission-Floor". If they say that...you get to line up (get there early) hours before the show to try to get to the front of the pack....where' you'll fight a constant battle to stay there and not get "moved" by some other yahoo who wants to get closer. Or you'll get caught up in the press of humanity and get pinned against a barrier, wall, or other immovable object.
Keep in mind, I'm not baggin on it. It's a fun way to see a show provided you're into the experience. As you get older, at least for me, it's not quite so much fun anymore. We old folk will leave that kinda stuff to you youngsters.

Was on the GA-Floor in Vegas in 06 and had the best time ever right up against the railing. Sat in seats for the November 5th show and had an alright time. If you are a die-hard and want the best time -- I suggest the GA floor. If you have 'other interests' then well of course a seat is better

MSG aint overrated. In the many shows I've seen at both venues, MSG always has much better sound. No contest.

Depends on the venue layout.
When Guns played in Sydney last I had section A floor. I was front row right side of middle (6 hour wait mind you) It was unreal, the bass went straight through me in the intro to WTTJ like nothing I have ever felt.
It can be tuff and rough if your not very tall being so close to the front, but being so close to them that you can see the sweat beeding on their faces is by far worth it.
One thing though was at times being so close to the front speakers/bass I couldn't hear axls voice very clear in a few songs.
The next night I had section A seating. Different experience, got an awesome view of the whole show, sound was perfect and no pushing.
If you can't get the best seating available I would recommend the floor 15 rows back for sure !!! I'm glad I did both options

NYC Warm-Up's don't really make sense, since they would have to fly their gear from LA to NYC. Then back to LA then to Japan to start the tour. If anywhere, Warm-Up's would be (IMO) in California.

In 2006 I had floors at ACC in Toronto, was real tight, not much shoving your way to the front, basically rows of people standing, so where you were before GNR came on is where you watched them from.
In 2002 I had upper bowl in London Ontario and i'm almost 100% that there were actual seats on the floors there, no GA.

You want your tickets to say "GA-Floor" or "General Admission-Floor". If they say that...you get to line up (get there early) hours before the show to try to get to the front of the pack....where' you'll fight a constant battle to stay there and not get "moved" by some other yahoo who wants to get closer. Sounds like the usual standing floor. You can also go late to stay cosy in the rear of the floor, can't you?
Cheers now I understand that in North America you have a seating arrangement called general admission and like in clubs or trains there are seats that aren't assigned and you aren't bound to them. I think that's a very nice option.

Quick question....slightly off topic..
But how rough do GN'R shows be? Im in Ireland-just in case they come there- and I'm 15...not very strong
But yeah, would I get the shit kicked outta me if I wanted to stand up close?
I've never been to a proper concert
