Danko Jones opening for GN'R

Jones hopes to bring more Canadian rock fans on side when his band opens for Guns N' Roses this month. The group has finished recording a new record, which will be released later this year.

"I remember Guns N' Roses opened for The Cult in Toronto way back in the day, but I was cutting fish all day so I couldn't go," Jones recalls.

"But the word was this opening band blew away The Cult ... I loved Appetite for Destruction. I'm still struck by the songwriting.

"Not only Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child O' Mind, which have been bludgeoned into our heads but lesser-known tracks like Night Train and It's So Easy. Those are amazing songs."

Danko Jones performs tomorrow night with Guns N' Roses at the Saddledome.

there is no way rexal is smaller than credit union center. i hope it sells out ill bumed if it doesent

The difference between Rexal, Credit union center and even the Brandt center are the seats not the floor...at least that is my understanding.  Both the Brandt and credit union center have had NHL games played so I would think the rink size is the same.  However Rexal has more seats then Credit union center.

I don't think that the Brandt center has had a NHL game played there.  It holds 7000 for hockey.  Pretty small place actually.  THe Regina Pats plays there since 1977...That is the WHL..Not the NHL

Actually they just did in 2009 a preseason game.  I live in Regina where the Brant center is located.

My point is the floor or where the stage is being put is the same between Brandt center and Credit union center.  So the stage setup should be the same at both venues.  I'll tell you after the shows I am going to both cheers Smiley

So I just got an automated call from Ticketmaster reminding me that cameras will not be permitted to the show at the Air Canada Centre next week.  I've never received one of these before, even back in 2002 and 2006 when GNR played the ACC.  Found it somewhat peculiar.

Yeah, I'm going to Hamilton, London and Toronto and really hoping they play TWAT.  It's my favourite song off Chinese Democracy and I have yet to see it live in person.  I understand it's not one of those songs you play every night, but hopefully they'll play it at least once this time around.

I'm still looking for 1 floor ticket for the Toronto show if anyone has any extras.  Please contact me if you have one to sell.

Cheers,

Andrew

I also got the automated call today. I wasn't going to answer it because i didn't recognize the number. When it started with (something like) "we're calling with an announcement concerning your tickets for the upcoming Air Canada Centre show..." i gotta tell you, my heart skipped a beat thnking it was gonna be baaad news (i.e. cancellation) nervous.
So when it told me i just couldn't bring my camera in, i was quite relieved! I am so ready to head North of the border and rock out! Looking forward to meeting some of you at the Loose Moose! beer  C u next week -- God it feels good to say that!
