Do you guys think there's still a possibility to have some warm up gigs in US before the Taipei show? They did that in 2001 and 2006, but not in the last tour...

I read at Billboard that U2 were teaming up with YouTube for a live streaming of one of their concerts.


Just thought it would have been awesome if GN'R could do something similar. They did the pay-per-view in '92, so I'm guessing Axl wouldn't hate the idea. 

The new band already did that in 2006 for the Inland Invasion and RIR Lisboa gig. Although those were from festivals broadcast, not only GNR.

I think that's because they toured till late December in 2006 before the last tour.

Alternatively they can warm up here in Tokyo before the Taipei show.

The whole idea of warm up shows. Looking back. In 2006 they did shows in New York, which is on the way to Europe from California. Makes sense.

The Las Vegas and San Francisco shows were also in the US a while before the North American tour started.



I don't think I'm out of line when I assume GN'R has a bunch of equipment etc. that needs to be shipped to Asia in time for the tour there. I have no idea how the logistics are handled, but depending on the mode of transport used, that could possibly be weeks in advance. Actually, it probably is.

I mean, you know how you wait for a package to arrive from abroad? Imagine a whole lot of packages!


What does this mean? Well, maybe that there's not enough time for the band to rehearse, send equipment to wherever people wish they'd play warm up shows (for example the East Coast etc.) and then ship everything to Asia in time for the first show.

I don't think they need all that time to ship equipament. I mean, if that was the case, they couldn't get from Tokyo to Europe so quickly in 2002. Or maybe they have two or more full gear sets to make it easier to travel around the globe.

U.S citizens also need a special "visa-passport" to enter canada?

they made it obligatory for Mexicans also some 4 months ago, and i think its pretty expensive, so i will have to wait for a mexican concert.

Dude, you just need a regular passport to come to Canada.  Furthermore, it was imposed by the US government, not Canada.  I think there was mention of an enhanced drivers license that will work, but as a Canadian, I don't know much about that.

But yeah, any old valid US passport will get you back into the US (we'll let you in without one, it's getting back that will be the problem).

You're closer to right. Not only can you use a regular passport but most states will allow you to get an "Enhanced Driver's License" that will allow you to go between US & Canada. I'll be needing to get around to getting one if there's no US dates announced by the time they hit London, ON

Toronto is bound to have the lamest crowd, I'd honestly go to the Hamilton show before that one. Montreal, London and Ottawa all know how to party though

For all you clamoring about seating capacity:

Keep in mind that a lot of the info is for hockey games, not end stage concerts. You're losing the side-stage and behind stage sections on both levels; the floor doesn't entirely make up for this usually. Centre stage at MTS in Winnipeg would be 17,000, hockey is about 15,000 (from the MTS website). I think they do. GN'R's production usually seems huge and heavy.

Possibly they need 2 of them for the Asia tour. For example while 1 goes Taipei ?(5days)-> Osaka, the other Seoul ?(5days)->Tokyo. Shit, no way they can warm up in Japan.
