I remember a few years back there were a lot of songs floating around online and people were thinking they were gn'r but weren't. In particularly, there was a slow mellow song and the singer sounded identical to early axl, and I remember the song or band had the word Gotham in it? I think? Anyone remember what the song was called and who it was by. thanks

I think there were some other songs that people thought were GN'R.

I can't seem to remember at the moment.

There was a song posted about a month or so before CD hit. The lyrics went something like "I fucking miss you, I fuckng miss you and the crazy things that you do." It was a slower, acoustic song. I believe it ended up being Tenacious D, but I'm not sure. Kind of sounded like Axl (although it wasn't)

Cats in the Cradle

Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Guitar Solo)

Ugly Kid Joe's had a hit song called Cats in the Cradle in the early 90's, great song (I think it was a cover) but I don't see how anybody could mistake that for GNR.  Or are you talking about a something different?

Yeah, Ugly Kid Joe's "Cats In The Cradle" was/is often mislabeled as Guns N' Roses.

Anyway, the first song I can remember surfacing in the late 90s was "Keep On Rising".  hihi

I have no clue if that was it... I never mistook it for GNR, but it was always labeled as them...

Before the Illusions came out, my friend and I thought "Ball and Chain" was a possible new GNR song the first time we heard it on radio.   no  hihi

Ha, I remember that. This one was actually more likely because back in 1997/98 we all had no clue about how the new band would sound with all that rumors about it being totally industrial/techno/whatever.
