Great show!  Didn't like that Chester was reading the verses of "Slither" and so was Billy Idol during "Outta Get Me"...

Outta Get Me:

The highlight for me was seeing Outta Get Me performed by Slash live for the first time probably since 1992 -correct me if I'm wrong-.  Definetely since 1992/1993 with Duff on bass.  Travis Parker did an excellent job (with pretty much the whole setlist really) here, so did Navarro (again, good job throughout the whole setlist).

In my opinion, Billy Idol didn't shine on Outta Get Me, he kind of knew the general melodies but I didn't feel the vocal energy (and he read the lyrics).  Musically though -and in my opinion- the song was much better performed (more energy/more feel) than the 2002-2006 GN'R versions I've seen live (saw them in 2002 and in 2006).

In General:

The front of house sound guy did a terrible job throughout the night.  Things got better towards the end.  You couldn't hear most of the solos performed by other guest guitar players (Stockdale, Morello, etc) or Navarro when he did his solos.  Slash was low in the mix initially, then he was to high.  It was as if the sound guy was guessing which channel was whomever was doing the solo at the time - at one point he turned up the snare/hat mic and finally got the right channel by end of the solo...the opening band sounded way much better/clear (great band by the way, check them out:  Juke Kartel) in terms of house mix/sound.  They just saturated the house speakers with the main act.

It's rockin' song.  It's got it's mellow parts and a lot of Zeppelin-esque-style riffs...Stickdale's lyrics and vocals are excellent IMHO.

The guitar solo is pretty good too.

It's a bit weird that Slash had performed "Simpathy for the Devil". I mean that song had a negative context in the GNR's history, due to that song, was one of the reasons that motive to Slash quiting Guns...

Jailbreak through Rebel Yell were performed right before the 4 Ozzy songs towards the end of the show.

I am so happy for Steven that he got to play with Slash & Duff as you can see he looked like a kid on Christmas he was so excited. Even more, it is great to see him do a kick ass job at it for all to see because there are alot of people that frankly only know Steven as the guy with a drug problem who got himself kicked out of GNR. They never got to see the Adler that was a kick ass drummer and helped contribute to one of the greatest records Rock N' Roll has ever seen.

Finally, sobriety must be agreeing well with Slash because his guitar has sounded on point lately. It was also a nice treat to hear him play Out ta Get me last night, as it has been at least 15 years I would guess.  Just like Nightrain earlier in the year it is nice to see he can still make his way through the old stuff like he used to.

I don't even really like Slash's music minus Axl but the immaturity on this site for anything Slash does is embarrassing for a true GNR fan.

Ironically enough, this site is for true Guns N' Roses fans.

True GN'R fans know the history of the band and don't start labeling former members playing together as "Guns N' Roses".

True GN'R fans know about the upcoming GN'R tour and the fact that it has nothing to do with any former members.

I just emailed someone on youtube who posted other videos to ask if they have the new Slash song and they said they did and will upload it soon, so keep your fingers crossed that we should have it in the not too distant future.

so if seeing slash, duff and adler performing together reminds you gnr... you aren't a true gnr fan? its your site so you can do whatever you want... but come on man.. i don't think anyone is disputing if the band touring asia is gnr or not.. they are just saying they get the gnr vibe when they see three former members perform together..  you wouldn't mention gnr if buckethead, fink and brain all performed together for a show?
