Always one of my favorite GN'R covers..Even like the raw soundong bootleg of the RIP anniversary party with Baz company...CLASSIC ROCK magazine has an article w/ Nazerath talking about the song..Originally titled Son of a Botch the record company suggested Heir of the Dog so the band went w/ Hair of the Dog...Nazerath talk about Warrant, Britney Fox and most recently a dance track versions of the song..They mention GN'R being in the front row of one of their concerts..Also they felt GN'R didn't change the song up enough..

I read that also. Not sure if I would have wanted them to change it up or not. I like that they stuck to the original. They pretty much tried to do that with the whole album. Its a perfect song for gnr to cover in my book.

Yeah, it's pretty much like the original.  I'd have rather seen them cover something different from Nazareth.  Axl belting out "Beggars Day" would've been killer.

One of my favorite GNR covers too.  Axl sounds really good on it.  Always liked the "Live and Let Die" cover as well.

This song was very important for the development of Axl's style of singing. Though that Chris Webber listened Axl singing this song with his rasp falsette (singing like Dan McCafferty) in the shower n' asked him to sing like this regularly  . Axl has been played this song since the Hollywood Rose days...

Did they ever give a reason for the title "Spaghetti Incident"? I thought Slash did in his book, but I don't recall for certian.

I think it had something to do with an incident in a restaurant were they (the band) ate some bad spaghetti and thru the boards on the floor... or something like that. Not 100% sure, but I think I read that in some article around the time the album came out in the 90's

The title is an inside-joke referring to a food fight between Axl Rose and Steven Adler involving spaghetti. Much was made of this food fight during Adler's resolution lawsuit with the band in 1993, in which Adler's attorney referred to it as "the Spaghetti Incident". The meaning was explained by drummer Matt Sorum in a 1994 interview with Much Music and confirmed by Slash in his autobiography, Slash.

The title may also be a play on the title of the 1991 film The Linguini Incident.

During a discussion between Rose, Slash and the album's cover designer in the "Making of Estranged" video, it is made clear that the correct form of the title is within quotation marks and with a question mark.
