Patti Hood, harpist on the wonderful track "This I Love", should come on tour with Gn'R because it would be fucking cool to have her play the harp live on this song. It would be so beautiful to see her play the harp next to the piano. She would definitely add something magical to the song.

Either this is your idea of a "joke" or you're just promoting your friend.

Or both.

Not disrespecting her talent or the work she did on the album.

Just that this person reminds me of those Pitman "fans" a while back....

personally, i think every musician who had a hand in the album should show up to recreate it live.  to me, that would be the most special way to experience chinese democracy.  really, axl is the only one that matters since he's the front man, lead singer and the guy who wrote every single lyric and melody.  but since all those other guys helped to make the music, i think they should be there to play it live.  they should actually really want to.

No it isn't.  Plenty of people do it.  In fact, before Sebastian Bach was opening for the band, he was with them for just one song.  And to put it mildly, I'd much rather have Patti Hood play on This I Love, than have to endure Bach singing My Michelle again.  I think it'd be a great moment of the show.

I will have to admit when I saw Bucket last January, his opening act was a local Seattle Orchestra, not what I would have expected, but I will not lie it was quite enjoyable, fact is, that was Buckethead and not GNR, yet I can't help but let it take me back to November Rain!!

there seem to be quite a few people outside of the band contributed to the album. I happen to see the name, suzy katayama more often than patti. Tongue

dude i have like 3000 records
from phil spector, doo wop and country to underground crustcore, brutal death metal and black metal

but it is logical, gnr concert goers are very closed minded and harsh to the opening acts
dude! THE SUICIDE GIRLS were booed! and they are semi naked hot girls.. just imagine a hippie with a harp
it is just stupid

For whatever reason (or for no reason whatsoever), opening acts will almost always get booed.  It comes with the territory.

IMO, Papa Roach was AMAZING!!!  Best opening act of the tour!!!
(whose ever idea it was to sign on Suicide Girls should be tortured and then put to death so that shit never happens again)

Patti Hood certainly deserves props for her contribution on TIL so if GNR wants to invite her on tour, I got no problem with that.  Whatever direction they want to take the 'stage presentation' of this song - epic or simple - her presence can only enhance that setting.

P.S.  I don't think anyone is suggesting that Patti Hood be one of the opening acts.

I can agree with why certain fans would enjoy this due to the fact it does have some significance to the album, however it is probably not what the majority of fans new or old would visualize for GNR.  With all do respect, we do know them to be a RR band for sure.

The suicide girls were cool. Why would you not one some strippers added to a show?
The Eagles of Death Metal played only one show. If they get booed bad enough Axl will straight kick them off tour. I was at that show and that's what happened.

i believe it was because the eagles of DM didn't have the guts to finish off their set properly and not because they were booed.
