I did and liked it a lot.

Christoph Waltz's acting as Landa was great.

Saw it last week, and the first Tarantino film I've seen. Shocked

I enjoyed it and as you and a couple of others have said, the "Jew-Hunter" was played very well. Couple of good funny moments too; Landa smoking that pipe, the "buongiorno" bit... hihi

Now I need to go watch Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Cheesy

I liked it too, but I wimped out on watching the death scenes. The dialog was great. Christoph Waltz's performance was definitely the highlight of the movie along with Brad Pitt's accent.

I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs, but Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies ever made.

Waltz should get an Oscar. Amazing performance.

Pitt's accent killed me... I fear that is how I sound when I talk! haha

I loved the comparison Waltz' character made in the beginning about not liking Jews with why people don't like rats.

Tarantino is a genius with dialogue. I must see this again.

Havent seen it yet. Will try catch it at the cinemas though.

Quentin is a very hit and miss director with me. But when he gets it right, he makes a damn good movie. Usually i like films where he and Robert Rodriguez have worked together the most.

Am i the only person here who thought Pulp Fiction was boring, n a waste of use of Bruce Willis?

I saw it on saturday.  Been looking forward to it for ages (I believe he first mentioned working on a script for it during the promotion of Pulp Fiction).  This is probably his best movie since that masterpiece.  Jackie Brown was great, but dragged a bit towards the end, and Kill Bill and Death Proof were both entertaining, but not great.  I really love how Tarantino is able to build up tension so much that even a 20 minute scene of nothing but conversation has you on the edge of your seat, and it's only when you analyse it that you realise there's not really that much actual action in any of his movies - not counting Kill Bill, obviously.
Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa was probably the star of the movie.  He steals every scene he's in - and he probably shows the most character development throughout the movie, too.  Melanie Laurent was also great as the Jew who managed to escape Landa.  And Daniel Bruhl as Frederick Zoller was fantastic... gradually getting more and more creepy throughout.
And that's without mentioning any of the actual Basterds... another thing that Tarantino's great at - assembling an ensemble cast, and putting them in roles that are perfect for them.

Thought so.

I text my friend when i watched it. I was like "dude, this film is a waste of my life. its boring. how the hell is this a classic?" he text back very, very confused.

But its honestly how i feel about the film. I just didnt get the point of it. And believe me, I'm an avid movie lover, it comes second to music. Ive got quite a big collection of films, and i even studied Media at A-Level and got a high grade in it. I love films and everything about them.

But this film...i just didnt get the point.

That depends on what you consider a big role.  I think all of the lead cast members have an equally important role in the movie, but being a movie with an ensemble cast, whose stories only all merge in the final act, everyone's screen time is limited.

I love Tarantino's way of conjuring dialogue. His means to keep it entertaining when it shouldn't be.. it's just too brilliant for it's own good.
Watching bts and pieces of Basters was enouggh t convicnce we are once again closert to roots of Tarantino's genius, as opposed to semi-waste of Ki9ll Bill I&II.

I thought it was awesome. The trailers are a bit misleading as the story centers more around Shoshana than Aldo and the Basterds.
