Don't agree.

Shackler's rocks.............big time!
And so does "Scraped".

Any song can be the next single really.  The album is that good, front to back.
True but Axl will want to do Better first.

Better was released last year.

Sometimes you release singles more than once.

Anything's possible.

I hope so.  I would like Better to be promoted properly.

They got it wrong with Jungle the first time, but the suits managed to fix things with future releases of the song.

Anything to do with GNR is awsome, but a night at a GNR show compared to a new GNR album!!? come on, most will pick a new album....whats wrong with that?

What's wrong with it?

We got an album, and as far as I know, the band isn't done with it yet. Unlike some of you.

So if you managed to live years and years without a new album, maybe you should hold that thought and save it for later.... In the meantime, go put on Chinese Democracy and enjoy.

/jarmo
True but when were waiting they could make a new album and tour for both of them problem solved Wink

To Soon to release another album, it wouldn't make sense and would confuse the public.
But it would get them thinking of GNR and thats important right now for the band but thats what I think...

Agreed!

Not many casual fans or critics would see that coming! And if they did a tour after that in support of both albums, the media would think twice about doing any more "15-years-and-xxx-million-dollars-for-this" -jokes.

System Of A Down released TWO albums during a short period of time back in 2005. It didn't hurt them at all, in fact I remember reading some articles where it seemed like journalists/critics liked the idea and thouht it showed guts and confidence!

In today's struggeling music industry, there seems to be a lot of acceptance for artists and bands that do stuff a bit out of the norm, if you know what I mean....

It all depends on the strength of the material. And from the few comments from insiders that has heard some of the unreleased tracks, there seems to be more gems in the vault!   yes

Some of us stick with that Axl said they wanted to keep their focus on CD for now, but like we all know, plans often change in the world of GN'R!   beer

Yeah those albums helped each other out I wonder what the next album will be called Comunist America rofl rofl rofl

Huh? I'm sorry, call me stupid, but I don't know what you ment by that post!

I didn't make ANY sense to me at all!

Try again!

I think the game plan now should be focusing on new material with DJ Ashba and releasing that ASAP.

I guess you don't want GN'R to play live and tour behind this album then.

That's fine. Nobody's forcing you to go once they do tour.

Some of you spent XX years whining about there not being an album. Then you abandoned it after three-six months saying it was dead and GN'R needs to put out a new album.

For me, the album isn't even close to being dead or forgotten at this point.

Can't wait to see them play those songs live in front of people who share that excitement.

Jarmo- I like your passion and all for the band, but please do not assume anything or put words into my mouth. I NEVER said that I would not see or support the band. What I did say that it is now time to focus on another album  or get the originals back. This album has been released and there hasn't been any promotion for it. As a result, sales dropped. ALL parties failed. If you look at Metallica or AC/DC -two bands that released their albums in the same time frame as CD- you will see that they are NOW touring the heck out of the albums. This is where Axl failed this summer and he has to come back with a new  album that is Guns N' Roses riff based rock  and not a solo effort. I think  DJ Ashba can bring that to the table and I'm very curious.

When you think they should do this or that, then how can you claim you want them to do other things beside those?

You want to have the cake and eat it too?

The only thing GN'R should ever do is what they feel is right.

Get "the originals back"? Don't you read anything Axl has said this year?

Your support for GN'R sure takes interesting forms. "Get the originals back". Right....  Roll Eyes

GN'R toured without an album in 2006 and 2007. They can tour in 2009 if they want.

A tour isn't just something you do around an album release anymore. Bands actually tour behind Greatest Hits compilations and stuff nowadays!

It actually seems like some artists just put out albums just so they can tour. So there's an excuse to go on tour. And the quality of those releases are often subpar....

GN'R has a quality record out. A bunch of songs that have never been performed live in front of audiences before. Audiences who can actually go and buy the album if they want to after/before the shows.

Why does that seem like such a horrible idea to some fans is beyond me.

Maybe all of you who don't want the band to tour will get lucky and they'll skip your part of the planet. Keep your fingers crossed!

Seriously, it's astounding to see fans post that they don't want their favorite (?) band to tour behind the album these people waited so long for.

We have people on this board who never got to see the band in the past.

In addition, we have all the ones saying that this isn't a real band blah blah blah. Well, real bands do tour. But the same people who say these things don't want them to tour. Ironic!

So you guys honestly believe "Shackler's Revenge" and/or "Scraped" is as good as/or better than "There Was A Time", "Better" and "This I Love"...?

Thats not what I said.

The album has 14 very different tracks. All of them offer something different.

Many of them have grown on me over time and it's almost impossible to pick a favourite.

Shacklers and Scraped are very different from TWAT, TIL, Better.

Personally I get something from all 14 tracks.

I would choose TWAT, Catcher in The Rye, and Madagascar as the singles.   Those have the most potential to get ppl interested in this album, and they are just great songs that should be associated with GNR.

They just need to push "Better" more, imho.  I guess to stay "on topic," if an additional single is needed, I think "This I Love" would probably be a good choice as it seems many rock bands nowadays that actually have a "hit" do so with a ballad rather than a "rocker."
