Give me a gitane!

He's bringing his Loaded bandmates with him.

With Velvet Revolver still searching for a new lead singer ? contrary to reports the gig hasn?t gone to Blu Bones man Gord Prior ? Duff McKagan brings his Loaded outfit to the Dublin Academy on October 8.

The Seattle-based quartet, who?ve half a dozen songs up at www.myspace.com/loaded, will be plugging their new Sick album.

Duff is also penning a financial column for Playboy, which makes for extremely entertaining and ? given the degree he got in the subject a few years back ? informed reading.

Those dates are all opening for Black Stone Cherry.  The Dublin date on the 8th is so far the only confirmed headlining gig, though I'm sure there'll be more.

I don't actually think there is a Dublin date on the 8th.  Can't see tickets on ticketmaster.  The source must be wrong.  They are playing Dublin on the 12th but supporting.  Any idea why Loaded would open for these 20 something year olds?

I've seen tickets for sale on Ticketmaster.co.uk (for some reason you have to search Duff McKagan, because they don't have it down as Duff McKagan's Loaded - it's pretty annoying that so many places seem to think they're booking a solo artist and not a band).
And Loaded would be opening for Black Stone Cherry because, a) they like Black Stone Cherry, and b) at this moment, Black Stone Cherry have a much larger following than Loaded, and they're probably hoping to pick up some new fans along the way.

quick question.

If Loaded are opening on this tour, is there much point in getting a ticket?  I bet they'll only be on for 45 mins or so.

I have a ticket.  But then, I'm interested in seeing Black Stone Cherry, too.  If more UK headlining dates are announced I'll get tickets for those, too... and I'll post them on here if no one gets there first.  There's now a Belfast date on Ticketmaster on the 7th October, too.
