In a interview with Icon Vs. Icon (http://www.iconvsicon.com), guitarist Alex Grossi discusses his current tour with Adler's Appetite, the band's upcoming album and his work with Del James and Dizzy Reed.

Source: http://www.iconvsicon.com/2009/06/28/alex-grossi-talks-adlers-appetite-paul-reed-smith-road-show/

Excerpts below:

On The New Adler's Appetite Album:

"...Adler?s Appetite is planning on going into the studio in late July and we have already started working on some stuff. Chip Z?Nuff, Steven Adler, Michael Thomas and myself will get in a room and just start banging out ideas and roll tape. Hopefully by the end of the year, you will have a new record from us." - Alex Grossi

On The Status of The Dizzy Reed Solo Album:

Icon Vs. Icon: You mentioned recording guitars for Dizzy Reed?s solo debut and I know Del James is serving as producer on that release. What can you tell us about this project and any idea on when it may hit stores?

Alex Grossi: I have no idea about it?s release date. I know that they are mixing it right now. Once ?Chinese Democracy? came out, I am sure it took a little bit of a back burner. Working with Del was great. For a guy who doesn?t really play an instrument he has a really great ear. He will walk into the room and say ?No, no! Do it more like?? and then throw out some crazy analogy that ends up making perfect sense at the end of the day! It was really great working with those guys. As a Guns N? Roses fan, and I am sure not too many people will be a fan of me saying this, but it is cool to work on every end of the spectrum. By that I mean, I am working with a guy who was there at the very beginning, Steven Adler, all the way up to the guys who are in the band now. Whether that ties the two things together, I can tell you 100% that it does not, but it is really cool to hear the stories and the history of the band. If you think about it, as far as I am concerned, they are the band of my generation. You had The Who, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles for previous generations. As far as rock bands and anyone that is in their early thirties to forties, our band is Guns N? Roses or Nirvana but definitely one of the two.

Sounds great but I wish Steven would get someone else to be the singer I heard Adlers Appitite live on the internet and the singer sucked but other than that it was great so best of luck to him!!!!

No, why would I?  Whats the point of your post anyway?

One poster said he was looking forward to hearing some studio stuff from Adler.  Jim Bob had to pipe in saying he was more interested in hearing Dizzy's stuff just to shit on the Adler project.  If he says he wasn't trying to, he is a liar.

So would you call it a hate if he said he'd be more interested in the dizzy album than chris cornels in a Chris cornel thread?

Why would he be talking about Dizzy's album in a Cornell thread.  That's fucking stupid.

Quit the innocent act.  We all know what he was alluding to.

Wow, I really can't believe some of you people.

How come that is stupid and this is hating?
both dizzys and chriss are solo

In a gnr site naturally there are posters that are too excited about a gnr member's upcoming album to hide it when talking about any new release. Jim bob's eager anticipation for dizzys can't be an act.

You're just overly defensive.

You know why it's hating.  Why do you insist on playing the stupid/innocent card.

Those two artists have no relation to each other.  That would be stupid for him to bring that into that subject.  This is just him hating.

You're joking right?  Still playing the stupid/innocent card I see.

It wasn't about him just talking about Dizzy's release, it was so he could get a shot in at Adler.  It's in the history of his posts/attitude.  Check them out sometime.  You'll find it's not all innocent comments.

I like Dizzy too and his piano parts and playing are great.   I still think Adler's album is going to kick ass, and it has the potential to really rock.  Grossi says he is happy to play with both.

I'm genuinely interested in the Dizzy album.    It is on topic as its a big part of the article!   Why so defensive?

You are right in that I'm not an Adler fan, so naturally I'm more interested in what Dizzwald is doing.   Is there anything wrong with that?   Am I supposed to suck Adler's dick to post in this thread?  Oh wait, its Adler who does that :p

Jemin, just ignore posters like that.  WE know what he really is doing here.  For a GNR fan, he really loves the Ex Gunners section!

At any rate I'm interested in hearing both.

I always see him posting in dizzy threads and that casts no element of doubt on his overwhelming enthusiasm for dizzys release.
