Look at the lies Slash is leading

« on: June 10, 2009, 06:54:47 AM »

As you all know, Metallica was inducted this year. And i think GNR deserves it to.

What's your thoughts on that ? How should it go down   Huh

I think it would be weird to get the "new" band to accept it, because at least 80% of the material came with the old lineup, and i don't think Axl's to keen on sharing the same stage as slash  confused

(maybe this has already been a topic)

here is how it will go down:

they will be inducted in 2012

I would be shocked if Axl showed up for it but if he is into it

U will probably see Axl and GNR do a song and Slash,Izzy,Duff and Adler do a song with a singer.

just hope it doesn't go on like Van Halen. that was embarrassing

I don't think this topic has ever been discussed before.

By the way, does anyone know the release date for the next album...?  Huh

You don't have to worry about that happening.

The five guys who get that honor will be the 5 who contributed to AFD.

I would love to see the 5 of them up there together. Won't happen. But it would be a pretty magic moment nonetheless.

You don't think the scenario that you just described wouldn't be embarassing?

I agree, any scenario would be embarassing unless they get there shit together and show up at least to honor there legacy. Im sure Axl and Slash dont have to stand by each other.

Actually, after thinking about this a little harder, I guess if they did perform together at the show the reunion talk would really take them by storm.  But there is no point in doing it unless all parties are happy to.  Would still like to see one song though!

Spiraling up through the crack in the skye...

There have been plenty of bands that have gotten over their hurt feelings to get back together.  Who would have ever thought that the Eagles, after all of their in-fighting, would tour and record again.  Same with Pink Floyd, the Police and DLR and Van Halen.

That being said, I am not holding my breath.  Axl and Slash both need to do some serious growing up.

Yeah, that was pretty bad.

I think it would be the new band and maybe Duff and Izzy participating as well.

I personally still believe that creative differences will keep these guys apart forever.  See below quote from slash.  He knows that Chinese Democracy is a good album but we all must agree that the old band would never have been able to make it.  The old band were really raw.  A cool riff made so many great tracks.  Chinese Democracy is what Axl wanted GNR to evolve towards.  Its just a bigger production that the others went into.  Contraband shows the simple approach preferred by Slash/Duff.  Whichever you like is your own opinion.  A lot of us like both.

Listening to CD and Contraband will definitly back this arguement up.

In my eyes, i wouldnt mind seeing a one off performance or a few shows but i dont think these guys will agree again creatively speaking, judging on these 2 albums.

Lets dont turn this into reunion talk

Axl has one thing that bands like Van Halen, Motley etc dont and that is, this guy just doesn't give a shit about fame or money... those bands reunited for the money and fame. Axl would never do something just for that which is why this is a different story.

Hi

This is what Slash said in relation to the RNRHOF.

Quote
I never even thought about it until we had to do that. Somebody asked me, 'Do you think you guys will be able to show up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (induction ceremony) in five years?'

"I was like, 'Oh, I guess we're eligible.' It never dawned on me before then. If this comes up, I'd hope we'd be mature enough to get up and do that, but I have no idea."

This is what Axl said

Quote
The whole "mature enough" bit was cute. Not to offend anyone but personally I don't have an interest and other than inducting Elton don't quite get what it is exactly and who decides what. It seems to mean more to some than others and more so amongst fans. It's nice to get recognition and have some form of acceptance but in regards to joining others the price is too high and just not worth it. It's a ways away and seems a bit presumptuous to be contemplating being inducted now.
