Back in February on one of those -20 below days we had in Chicago, I was driving one of my coworkers home. We were at a red light and we saw her son and some of his friends at a bus stop. I told them all to hop into my car. There were 3 big teenage guys and one girl. I said "you're all welcome if you can fit". One young man said "we'll fit" They all laughed and joked how my friend' s son said, "That's My MOMMA!" I dropped my friend off who lives in a very sketchy nieighborhood. I took the other young man and his sister home. They were so sweet, appreciative and joyful. The young man wanted to be a professional football player, and we talked about how I went to University Of Michigan and how Charles Peanut Tillman of the Chicago Bears(his daughter was a patient in our PICU) was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I dropped them off in another sketchy neighborhood and he gave me directions on how to get back to North Ave. He was so polite and said Thankyou M'aam, which was sweet but made me feel old. He had such a grateful spirit, and he was so full of life, I talked about this encounter for weeks. I just found out that he died suddenly at one of his basketball games last week. I am still in shock, so I can't even imagine how badly his family must feel.

Very true. My coworker is going to give me his mother's address. I want to send her a note that  even though I spent less than a half and hour with her son he had a profound effect on me. He taught me to just enjoy the little things in life. He was just so THRILLED to get a ride home on that cold day.

I feel like even if your meeting with this person was very short lived, it truley had some significance in both of your lifes, your act of kindness in giving him the ride that meant so much and he for reminding you how important the small things in life really are.  Does that make any sence at all?

I have decided to honor Marcel's memory by writing a screenplay that was inspired by his gracious spirit.

Thankyou. I have actually come up with a pretty good story. I had been pondering how Stephenie Meyer was inspired to write the whole TWILIGHT saga, based on a dream of the meadow scene. She didn't know anything about vampires. I was in the shower and it hit me, that I could write a story about Marcel that was inspired by that 10 minute car ride.

Try talking to your guidance counselor and taking some aptitude tests. You are still young, and you may just well make it in the music biz. If you were 40, then your chances would be alot slimmer. I have a very intense love/hate relationship with my job, but I accept it for what it is, but sometimes I wish that I could have been more studious and gone to medical school to be  a plastic surgeon. I only studied 2 to 4 hours a week, and I still have nightmares about all the classes I cut and books I didn't read. I'll wake up in a cold sweat, and I say, Girl you've been out of college for years and you're a great nurse so chill.

Ugh, that's terrible when someone close to you dies like that.

One of my co-workers died this year suddenly after not telling people she had cancer of the pancreas.
