Arenas vs Stadiums
«

Just curious what everyone prefers areanas or stadiums. Please none of the "I don't care, as long as they tour" comments. To me stadiums are too big, the bands seem to get lost on the stage and a good portion of the crowd lose the live experiance because they are better off watching it on the jumbo- trons.
Clubs are not an option, this is GN'R not VR.....

Neither... Go with places like Hammerstein, we know GNR can do that

It's not really an option is it? If you look at the subject line.....
Playing a stadium isn't that different from playing a festival.
I don't mind it.

i don't care as far as I can see them at the front row!...that's unlikely whether it's an arena or a stadium.
so i guess the bigger the better.

I like the bigger places for the stage show, I love the huge spectacle of it. But, then again, i love the smaller palces for the intamacy. So either way, I'm happy.

I'd like to see them play at Madison Square Garden. It will be the only concert I'll buy a ticket to see for this year since no one else has put out anything that is worth while to go see.
Nice summer night. We're seated at the Garden. First song: You could be mine!!!!!!! : )

Up close and personal gigs are so intimate! I love the old GNR shows at the RITZ,on the UYI tour the stage was like a mile wide and therefore the band had less chemistry.
Interesting to see how this pan's out though.

I'm not big on Stadium shows BUT I've always wanted to see GNR outdoors in the summertime. For some reason they always come through Detroit in the butt-ass cold and play the Palace. So to be honest I'd take a stadium show in the summer just for something different.

Festivals are kind of irrelevant. If you look at the subject line...

Festivals are kind of irrelevant. If you look at the subject line...
You shouldn't try to be a smart ass if you're gonna suck at it.
I said playing a stadium isn't that different size-wise to playing a festival, so since I don't mind festivals I don't mind stadiums. See, on fucking topic!
It's not that hard.

So if this topic doesn't include comparing clubs, why did you delete my topic that did? Doesn't really quite make sense to me.

It's in Dead Horse because we don't need this section full of "venue vs venue" threads.

I've yet to see GN'R, so i'm happy wherever they play!
A nice indoor arena i think i would prefer IMO
I remember seeing Iron Maiden at Twicenham stadium last year, altough it was a superb show and the crowd was great, the sond can get blown around, and it gets cold come night fall! (Not to mention GN gigs tend to start later than planned, so it's an even longer wait)

I like a more intimate setting to be honest, but I have no problem rocking out in a Stadium with thousands of GnR fans !
