How has it been proven?  What did he say that wasn't true?

I'm talking about his sources. what did he here tell of the album?

I remember him talking about the album being done, and being held up by negotiations with the record label, etc.  It was all pretty much confirmed to be true by Axl.
In fact, I'm pretty sure he was one of the guys who started talking about it being retail exclusive, was he not?

Didn't he once say his source told him that the release wasn't possible and other nonsense?

I don't think it really matters.  He doesn't say much of anything in that little snippet.  He says he doesn't know of any plans.  None of us do.  I wouldn't expect Eddie Trunk to know of GNR's plans.  He's a radio DJ who was able to get a huge exclusive with Axl Rose 3 years ago.  But that doesn't mean he's in the know with the band or he's on Axl's fave 5.  Not every band has to run things by Eddie Trunk for approval.  I just don't see any reason to get worried or upset about from this.

Axl Rose intends to follow last November?s release of Chinese Democracy with a worldwide Guns n? Roses stadium tour this summer, according to industry insiders. If it comes to pass, the tour would mark the first U.S. stadium dates for the current line-up of Guns ? their 2002 and 2006-?07 tours were arena outings, with some overseas stadium shows. (And contrary to one persistent online rumor, the band has absolutely no plans of playing Spain?s Kobetasonik Festival this June.)

Meanwhile, Guns? manager, Irving Azoff, tells Rolling Stone that the band has big plans for this year. ?Axl has been basically quiet, keeping out of the limelight for almost 15 years. People think they know him but they only really only know what has been said about him by questionable people,? Azoff says. ?He is a good guy and often misunderstood ? he is a professional who has worked very hard to build and maintain a high creative standard for Guns n? Roses, which I support. We have some exciting things in the works this year for Gn?R, I?m looking forward to it.?

There are a few rumored dates for South America in September I believe, then the one in Israel in October.  Of course they're just rumors.

What's up with Guns N Roses? I hear that question all the time and honestly do not know. Some sources recently told me the band was rehearsing for a few months in LA for what many people thought would be a tour (why else would you rehearse?), but that has stopped and there is no plan at all at this point. Strange if true especially when you consider they added a new member recently. No matter how you feel about G&R this really has been another strange chapter with this band since Chinese came out. The album did OK sales wise, but nobody can possibly be happy with the lack of airplay, interest and sales in the USA with all the anticipation for it to come out. Hard to comprehend how the ball could appear to be so badly dropped here on so many fronts. Who knows what the next move is or who is to blame? I can only personally say good things about Axl. He was cool as shit when he came to my studio a couple years ago and gave me what is still a mega exclusive many talk about to this day. Hopefully there is a bigger picture plan yet to be revealed, but it is strangely silent right now. Of course Axl knows he has an open door anytime he wants to speak again on my shows.

He obviously isn't a super reliable source, but it's interesting (and worrying) nonetheless.

Interesting.  As Eddie said, unless there is some master plan in the works (and when has there ever been?) it looks like we're back at square one.  Roll Eyes

any more info about those dates? I'm not asking for a ''reliable source'', I just want a link to that info. Thanks in advance.

If those dates are true, i will be there all three dates.  beer

I don't really see how that's worrying.  No offense to Eddie Trunk, but even if GNR had concrete plans right now, I doubt he'd get that exclusive information.  Just because he doesn't know what the plan is, doesn't mean there isn't one.  From all accounts, they rehearsed for some time and are now in the midst of a 3 week break.

I guess Eddie is just frustrated, like many of us here.  But there's nothing we can do about it.  Rehearsals+DJ+rumored concert dates are far better than waiting 15 years for an album.  That, I can say for sure.

im going to draw inspiration from your hopeful attitude because i couldnt bear it if the 'no plans' thing was true. it would hurt toooooo bad.

Eddie isn't the fortune teller.  He does not have the Magic 8 Ball.

Well we don't really know for sure what's going on, a few "sources" can't be sure, and Trunk isn't a spokesperson for GNR.. although I would have thought that with news of rehearsals and hiring DJ Ashba, things would have started moving along by now. But that's just my opinion.

Anyway.. we just have to leave it in their hands and trust that things will happen when it is the right time and right circumstances..

We can't take Eddie as a spokesperson on behalf of GNR, and his "sources" aren't really significant to us. Although, I personally, would have thought that things could move along by now after rehearsals and DJ Ashba, but we don't really have GNR's itinerary/schedule layout so we can't know anything for sure.

The last sentence of what Trunk said seems to point more about trying to garner some publicity for his show inthe hope that Axl might come back on it.

No disrespect to Eddie but that's how I took it too.
