I see what u mean and it is possible. especially with Trent putting NIN on the shelf for a while. I mean what else is he going to do?

Guess it depends on if he rubbed Axl the wrong way with how he left. No explanation and i still feel he hurt some of the promotion of CD by doing that.

I don't think he rubbed Axl the wrong way.  Reading that last interview didn't send those kinda of signals, I think Axl would love to have Robin on tour.

This is what I've wanted more than anything over the years that I've been a GNR fan...so excited that I could finally be seeing them outside on a summer day!

However, I've always envisioned a concert like this to be with shit loads of people if not sold out.  And to be honest, if Axl and GNR doesn't start making appearences and getting people familiar with the new band, I don't see them selling too many tickets.

With that said, I think GNR and Axl know this and will indeed start doing some good promotion over the next couple months. (its already started a bit with the billboard interview, del  james interview) ....here's to hoping we get much more so we can all enjoy seeing GNR in a great atmosphere...     beer

Not true. Could do this:

1) Reasonable ticket prices, given that the venue is large
2) Small amount of shows. Like 12-15 total in NA, all major markets. NY, LA, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, DC, etc...
3) Do what Metallica did with Summer Sanitarium, and take 4 or 5 other well known bands on the road with them, and make this an event, not just a concert.

I was thinking the same thing...bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, The Killers etc... would fit in great on this....Bands theses days usually roll out a festival style tour in the summer...like Cruefest,Ozzfest etc....in order to fill a stadium these days you need a few bands on the bill...unless your Bruce, The Stones, or Bon Jovi(only when he plays in jersey, dont get excited D)

I'm not sure if this article is entirely correct.  Don't they mean OVERSEAS stadium tour.  I can't remember the last time Guns toured the states in the warm summer months...I'm thinking they won't be here until LATE this year if at all.  I hope its true though!

in order to do something like this it'll have to be a summer sanitarium type situation plus with the economy the way it is ticket price will be a big deal.  Another thing is it would probably be a good idea to get someone like Jagermeister to sponsor the tour and have them bring in their mobile or secondary stage in for acts in between the main stage.  Sponsorship is the key to any tour of this magnitude the more money generated by the sponsor the cheaper the price will be to get in and just remember the average stadium in the U.S. is 65-70,000.   Hope they can pull it off.  No matter what I think whatever tour they decide will work I hope it goes off without controversy and it can be about the music and the show and not the b.s.  that always seems to happen with this band

good luck!!

YES! brilliant! I'd like to go to as many as possible!

(please dont choose to play the 02 though - fkn hate that draughty place - Michael jackson's "residency" will hopefully book it out for a while)

I'd SO be up for a trip to wherever the first gig is - esp USA.  Was looking fondly at my framed tour poster from 06 the other night - it really doesn't seem that long ago.  One the THE summers of my life - so many GnR gigs, so many special moments and the excitement at the gigs was just awesome.

best start saving those bastard Huh ! beer
