Probaly won't see US Dates until maybe late 09 early 10.  Just a educated guess ?

Probably correct.  Certain people always like to bring up the mediocre ticket sales in the US but they still play sold out or near capacity venues everywhere.  The album sold better internationally too.  I hate to say it but the rest of the world is more supportive of GnR in this day and age and they deserve a tour more than the US where so many people who claim to be GnR fans do nothing but whine and bitch about everything GnR does

It's not just GNR it's the rock scene in general.  Sure really big name bands/reunion bands sell well here.  But I think the rest of the world is just more into the live show experience compared to the US.

Plus, if you look at the last few times they toured, 2002 and 06/07, they always start overseas and then head back here for the late year shows.  And I'm not speaking about the MTV show in 02 or the NY shows in 06.  In 02 they started the North American leg in November and in 06 they started it in September.  So I wouldn't look for anyhing until then and be pleasantly suprised if there is.

Don't know if its been pointed out here but I heard on a local hard rock station here that Faith No More is rehearsing too tour for the first time in 10 years. Maybe they are the opening act. They would fit pretty well over outside of the US and possibly here.

It's possible ( since FNM are touring exclusively in Europe too ) but I somehow don't see this happening.

-Because FNM's reunion is one of the most anticipated tour of the year, so I really don't see them open for GnR
-Axl loves FNM but I don't sure the love is shared judging by Mike Patton's attitude the last time they toured together
-Axl + Mike Patton = something bad waiting to happen. I love them both but I just don't see them going along

But if it happenned and if it went well it would basically be the greatest thing ever.

I think there might be some bad blood between FNM and Axl though.

No way this will happen for a variety of reasons. Firstly, Faith No More have already announced over 20 European dates already mostly headlining summer festivals - Roskilde, Download, Sziget, Pukkelpop etc. They are more popular than ever in Europe and won't be opening for anyone. It seems FNM are doing an intensive tour to maximise revenue - hence they are playing exclusive dates in UK, Italy and France - some of these festivals play up to ?1 million in fees for the likes of Coldplay and Springsteen so I'd imagine FNM they are pulling in around ?500,000 for most of these.
(Might be an approach GNR go for next year as an alternative to a distinct European tour)
Also Patton hates Axl, called him a "perfect prick" in an interview a few years back.

Have people given up on this tour?

There were rumors of Argentina, Recife, and Chile.

Now, Ron is in Hawaii and it seems like the band is taking a break from rehearsals.

One last break before a mammoth tour?

I WANT TO BELIEVE.

Once they announce the tour, people will get interest again. It's always been like that. Fans of the band didn't lose interest in all these years, why it would be different now?

I think the plan is obviously to tour.  Not sure exactly what is holding things up at this point.  I'll keep to the theory that things may pick up next month in conjunction with the end of the Best Buy exclusive (if that is indeed a 6 month deal).

The Economy isn't good right now. People don't have money to pay hundreds $$ for a stadium show, they have other priorities.
The Economy isn't good at all in Europe also. Same thing.

So just wait until it's better.

Weeeeeeeeeee! Or shouldn't I be that much excited? I read that on Ron's twitter too and it only makes me think he's back because something's about to happen.

You know what? In a way, I hate Ron's twits... He just gets me so freaking anxious with his posts!    nervous confused crying
