I wouldn't see selling out any stadiums in the US. The economy is shit and there's just not much buzz around this band here.

It would depend.

It would depend on who they toured with, what the ticket prices were, etc.

Stadiums are "hurting" for summer business this year, too...because not too many festivals are running and very few of the "big acts" are embarking on stadium tours.  That means those buildings are sitting open more than usual.  That means the artists and promoters have some leverage in negotiating DOWN the facility fees, and maybe dropping ticket prices to a level a little more sane, considering the current economy.

I'm not saying it'll happen. Just that there is an opportunity for it to happen that is not as far fetched as you would think.  If they could get 2 decent/good acts on the bill (besides GnR), AND keep ticket prices under $100 for the "decent" (not field level, but decent) seats, I think they'd do probably do pretty darn good business.

The market is difficult - the economy isn't good right now.

I totally understand if the plans changed. It's normal. It's not Axl's fault or anyone's fault. It's better to wait.

There will be a Tour, don't worry  Tongue  peace

Source?

adman2374's source is probably just the voices in his head because last night (April 27) Richard said in a radio interview on KDHX that he is focused in rehearsals with GNR.

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=56602.0

first he said he is focused in rehearsals with gnr
then when asked about if they were gonna tour he said: "hopefully"

he said he havent heard about any NORTH AMERICAN dates.. but other places are considered (i think is europe and south america)

well, according to bumblefoot's twitter, HE'S in Maui.  So rehearsals probably aren't going on at the moment unless they changed locations.

Maybe he entered a time warp and went into the future.  I'll admit a tour for THIS summer grows less and less likely with each passing day, but I think we were all saying the same thing about the album coming out and that wasn't announced until a month or so before it came out.

Tool are touring this summer, and they've only announced like 3 shows so far.

There is still lots of time for Gn'R to announce/plan dates for the summer.

It sounds like the announcement is coming "soon." Tour should kick off in Argentina before heading to Chile and Brazil.

The market doesnt mean shit to big bands...the big time bands will play anywhere they want and charge whatever the hell they want...did you see the U2 prices? out of this world! and they are selling out everywhere..same with AC/DC, Metallica, Springsteen even Green Day.

I know several people who are not fans of GNR as it is now...you know the typical older fan who doesnt consider it GNR blah blah blah, anyway they also said they would be there in a second if they toured with Van Halen and pay whatever was being asked...GNR with another big band will sell like crazy, regardless of ticket prices...

I'm not hoping for high ticket prices...

BUT... I would be willing to pay top dollar for tickets to see GNR along with another headliner in a packed venue somewhere.

As long as GNR came on last and rocked the fuck out of the place leaving even the most jaded rock fan admitting that whatever he thought was "the real GNR blah blah blah", that the REAL GNR just kicked his fucking ass.
