Personally for the Uk / Europe tour I would love to See Guns headline with 2 of the following for the openers:

1st headliners 30min slot
The Enemy
Reverand and the Makers
Idlewild
Tokyo Police Club
Liam Finn

2nd headliners 1 hour slot
Manic Street Preachers (fans of the band based there early sound around original line up)
Chemical Brothers
Prodigy
New York Dolls
Kasabian
Editors

madness, pure madness......it supposed to be a rock show.

pick from any of these for support slot

Airbourne
The answer
Black Stone cherry
Seb Bach
shinedown
Sixx AM (DJ can play both sets)
Stone Gods

that aint a lot to choose from. I went through my ipod (hence alphabetic order) and chose what i thought would be realistic choices....

take it for what it is..

You dont think that bands like the Manics, The Enemy, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers or Kasabian could hold there own with rock fans, is Mix Master Mike rock music. Personally I would want to see bands which have a decent back catalogue and can play a bit. Sixx AM you couldnt expect a band member to play the whole night every night of a tour.

Manics would do it in a heartbeat. Would be a pretty big bill in the UK.

AIC would be wicked obviously.

Alice in Chains isn't the same without Layne Staley. I'd rather not see them live with William DuVall, to be honest. Could ruin my memories of the band.

Jerome is Cancer's buddy.  I don't even recall AIC saying anything about opening for Guns back in 2006 at Inland Invasion.

thats a pretty ridiculous statement to make.   No matter what happens, nothing can change whats happened in the past.  I wish more people understood this concept.

AIC would be a great opening act.   Bach again would be great too.

I like it when people cry about things not being the same anymore.

DURRRR it's not the same without Layne Staley.  I'm also wearing different underwear today, golly, I'm not the same anymore.

An AIC with DuVall is better than no AIC.  Let's say Layne was still alive, there would still be no AIC, as it was the case the last 6 years of his life.

yea i dont think its ridiculous to think its not the same or as good, but to think it could ruin memories of the past is pretty laughable.   but i totally agree.  and we're going off topic here, but i really do think AIC would be a good opening band.

I saw AIC openin for VR and they were great! I would like to see them openin for GNR, I would like Papa Roach also, they opened for GNR back in 2006 and they brought a lot of energy to the people, they were great!

The whole concept of opening acts is interesting.

Obviously most people are there for the headliner and don't pay attention to the opening act(s).

So you could either go with a band that's in the same genre as the headliner, or go for something totally different.

In both cases, chances are the opening acts will get booed and/or ignored!

I think it's cool to see bands that aren't necessarily similar to the headliner. Obviously it's not always a good idea. Depends on the crowd...

It always seems to help if the opening act has at least one "known" song and plays it.  hihi
