I thought Robin did the outro to Catcher.

Catcher:  Ron (outro also Ron)
There's also a small tidbit of lead from Robin after Ron's 1st solo and before the chorus.

Scraped:  Bucket, Ron (outro)
The opposite: Ron plays the solo and Bucket the outro.

I can generally hear it on the snare drum. Franks has a snappier, sharper sound, a little similar to Chad Smith in the BSSM era. Brains has a more round classic snaredrum sound.
the difference comes through really clear in IRS.

on ITW I'm quite sure that Frank play the breakdown parts, and pretty much only those.
imo it sounded better with Brain doing them.

I was wondering who plays the kick-ass guitar toward the end of IRS...I fucking love the vibe it adds at the end of the tune...any ideas?  (from about 3:55 to 4:15 of the song)

I'd really like to know who's playing that...I fucking love it!

Yeah, I agree  Wink
I've listened over and over and over a shit ton of times to hear the changes in the drum parts in the 4 songs that Brian and Frank take part in double duties.

"I.R.S." was the most noticeable to me at first because of the snare sound. Then "Better" was the next one as you can here Frank in the Chorus parts of the song as well as the first Guitar Solo and the Bridge breakdown part. "If The World" was a little tougher at first but once listening to the drums at the breakdown part of the song and continuing through the Guitar Solo and the last Chorus you can hear what sounds like Frank's drum sound.....The snare the most & kind of the toms as well when comparing them to the toms that Frank plays in his parts on the song "Better" as well as his sound on the title track "Chinese Democracy", as that is the only song on the album that Frank has full drum credits on. As for the double drum duties in the song "There Was A Time" it's a little tougher than any of the other three songs that the two drummers both play parts in. As for me it sounds as though Frank's parts are only in the first and second Chorus of the song "T.W.A.T". But over all it's a pretty clean transition on all four songs that both drummers are playing on overall it sounds awesome either way.  Cool
Peace  Smiley

Drum parts are what we need to go over. What parts are Franks on Better, T.W.A.T, and I.R.S. I know the addition he does on If The World. The new breakdown with added synth.

Couldn't you have told me it was somebody still with the band?  Smiley
Seriously, great stuff and thanks for the expertise.  I'm not a musician, but I know what sounds good.  Thanks for the response.  beer

I'd say Bumblefoot.  At the end it sounds like him.  Also, until hearing the final version of the song, I've never heard that part of the song before.

It's Bumblefoot, yes. He's on both sides (L and R) in the ending.

Thanks.

The guitar work on this album is some of the most inspired and diverse in rock n' roll history and it all gels together. It's a joy to listen to.

Bucket's solo ends @ 3.55 min. Then comes Robin, but Bumblefoot is there too, hey plays the sleazy parts. The screamin whawha guitar solo (in the background) is definately Robin.
