HESPERIA ? What began as a day of packing and moving for Brianne Enos ended with the death of the family?s two-pound Teacup Chihuahua, Gwen, after a Southwest Gas Corp. employee kicked it and broke its neck, according to the family.

The family said the employee was at the home on Friday for a service call when he kicked the 9-year-old dog, breaking her neck and killing her after the dog ran out of the home and began to bark.

?He did this right in from of my wife while she?s holding my 2-month-old baby boy,? Kevin Enos said.

Brianne Enos called San Bernardino County Sheriff?s Hesperia station and filed a report on Friday, sheriff?s officials said.

The couple says their dog did run out and bark at the employee, whose name has not been released by Southwest Gas, but stated that the man did not give Brianne Enos enough time to put down her child and chase after the dog before he kicked it.

Southwest Gas sent its condolances along with their explanation.

?In the presence of Mrs. Enos and while outside of their residence, the service technician was charged twice by the homeowner?s aggressive dog which resulted in an unfortunate incident. Southwest Gas offers its condolences to the Enos family and regrets the unfortunate accident,? the statement continued.

What I want to know is how was a full grown man could be so afraid of a 2lb chihuahua that he had to kick the poor thing, he couldn't have possibly have used some other method, really not saying much for his mantality is it?  What  a $#@%.

Maybe it is just me but I'd want to kick a Chihuahua even if it wasn't barking.

Oh course in reality self control would prevail and I wouldnt, but something about those yip yip type dogs, little rats.

Michael Vick should be put in a cage with a pack of starving pit bulls.

My friend has a saying: "if it doesn't come up to your knee, it's a cat."

I can't stand small yipping dogs and I love animals.  Those dogs are just crazy annoying and I have no idea why people get them.

The dog hardly ever barked. Only when someone was at the door and other normal reasons dogs bark.  It wasnt a "yipping" dog. It could have never harmed the man. Regardless of how you feel about chihuahuas, it didnt deserved to be kicked and killed.

Haha, I agree, a dog needs to be big. Those small little things are just "fashion accesories" to their owners.

But crow is right, i suppose you still shouldn't kick and kill the annoying little bastards.

I totally agree. Please give my condolences to your sister. I remember driving home on the expressway one day. There was a convertible pulled to the side of the road. There was a box of ducklings in the car. One of the ducklings had escaped and was on the road. This guy was risking his life to stop the traffic to save the duckling. I stopped, but the poor little creature was so scared that the man couldn't get him and some impatient jerk ran over the poor little ducking and killed him. This was over 12 years ago and it still makes me sad.

I'm all for stopping for ducks.  Not canadian geese though.  Run them over.

If it wasnt a yip yip dog, this must have been the only Chihuahua in history other than the Taco Bell rat to not be a barking whiney pain in the ass.   I wonder how far it flew....wish there was video

He really felt a two pound dog was a threat big enough to warrant kicking it? This guy must be the biggest pussy on the planet.

a 2 pound Lilliputian or a serial killer material.

I imagine she was just trying to guard the mum and the baby with all her might.... Cry

I can't stand those huge barking dogs in my neighbourhood and I'd be chased by a dog when I was little but I never ever want to see them get kicked or killed.
