I haven't watched any youtube videos of the guy playing yet, but based on what some of you guys have said, he must be pretty damn good. Some of you guys may think he looks too squeaky clean (my first thought was, 'Hey, it's Sebastian Bach's son!'), but if the kid can play, I think this could be a great move by the band. I think it would prove that the love of GNR spans all generations. I'm 21 myself, so the idea of an 18-year-old in GNR is like, man, that could be me!!! (If only I could play guitar, that is.)

His addition would certainly make headlines. Right now some people dismiss GNR as "old," so his addition might spark new interest in the band. He's a pretty boy so teenaged girls might be turned onto new GNR, which was part of the reason GNR was so popular in their prime: Axl in his bicicyle shorts singing songs like "SCOM" and "Patience." Also, he could be like the son Axl never had. And by him being just a kid, I don't think he'd turn into a disrespectul dickhead. He could contribute to the band and Axl's vision without causing problems.

And if the kid is a really amazing player, it'd be like Axl discovering and presenting another amazing talent to the rest of the world.

That's pretty damn funny because I remember listening to a Talking Metal podcast where they were talking about filming an episode of the Fuse version of their show with Zakk and Ron, and Ron got a text from Axl during the filming of the show.  Zakk then proceeded to tell Ron to let Axl know that he said hello and that he loves him.

I think this is pretty awesome, would be pretty curious to see what this guy could bring to the GNR table if he were hired. People have to realize, the days of old are gone, and GNR no longer has a dedicated specific lineup. It's not about who was in what genre before they were hired on, it's whether or not they can play the material at hand, enjoy playing it, and can play with genuine feel. GNR is not about age, race, etc...etc... GNR is a universal group of people that produce music and do it well.

#1: His touring with other bands has never seem to have interfered with GN'R.
#2: Rihanna has no tour dates right now.

I say Axl will try to get Izzy back and bring in Nick to take over Robin's parts.

#3: Axl: "I could see doing a song or so on the side with Izzy [Stradlin] or having him out [on tour] again."

The again in that sentence hints at a similar thing that they did in 2006 when Izzy guested at some shows when he felt like it.

Doesn't the fact that Izzy hasn't had a proper solo tour in years, give you the feeling that he'd rather come and go as he pleases, than to commit to a world tour?

Saying I hate Catcher's solos and TIL's solo in no way  means I hate all the guitar playing cause I don't. I think I've made it very clear as to what I like and what I don't like.

Shredding has never been my cup of tea cause after a while it sounds like a bunch of angry bees.

I'll take a great melodic emotion filled lick over 500 notes per second show offy stuff any day of the week.

bucket was intriguing and mysterious.

this kid is a great player but he is just too innocent looking etc.

but, if Eddie Van Halen can get his young son to play bass....... why not.

I don't really care who they would get, all i can ask for is a stable, non revolving lineup for awhile.

I think that guitar players in GNR could be in 3 categories

Bumblefoot/Buckethead

Richrad Fortus/Izzy/Paul Tobias

Nick Sterling(yes,I know he has propably nothing to do with GNR but I still hope),Slash,Robin Finck

They need 1 guitarist from all 3 categories for tour, so I would love to see something like

Nick - Richard - Bumble

(sorry but I can't imagine Bumblefoot and Buckethead on one stage together)



Nick is only 18 it's only one reason, why he is not able to play with GNR. But in fact it means only that he propably won't die soon, It has nothing to do with his guitar playin which is excelent. His look is fine, It would bring new fans. He can play the blues, it would perfectly fit withc old slash's stuff and it could bring something new for current GNR-lineup.His stage performance is amazing, he's so fuckin' charismatic..he's wild,he's badass, he's like 80s/90s rock star.He also already has great songwriting skills.And technically?When he was 14, he was able to play Satriani.I play guitar too and I can honesly say that he's really, really good.  It seems to me like he would be perfect in GNR.
