How about surprise small venue shows all across the US for about a month or so? That would be cool! And this usually always gives good press.  

Portland, Reno, Kansas City, Manhattan, Philly, Memphis, etc.

That sounds right, SF 06 was incredible,I know NY was great as well, throw in LA and it's perfection.
