I pretty much just listen to Chinese Democracy exclusively while I am driving in my car. I find I am much more patient and less hurried to get places because I want more time to listen to CD. I don't try and run lights or hurry to get to work. I even leave a little early just so I can listen to CD. I don't get as mad at other drivers because I am in such a happy place. I really notice a difference when I drive my friend home from work and I'm not playing CD because she's not a GNR fan.

Yes. Absolutely. Your words describe my feelings on the morning drive into work, listening to Chinese Democracy perfectly. After all this time with the album, even just this morning, Madagascar started and I was just a minute from pulling into work. I parked and just let the song play out. I couldn't just stop it. It felt to important? The music is just so beautiful. Anyway, I definitely don't rush in the morning all speeding and getting pissed when Chinese is on. I think I have waited my whole life for CD. The music just means that much to me. Chinese Democracy is that much of a masterpiece that I feel deep down. And because I have been on this journey from the beginning it just is that much more of a personal triumph. I can't help but feel happiness when it is on. All of it. Each and every song.

for me, it depends on the song.  when the rock-you-like-a-hurricane guitar riff to chinese democracy starts, i find myself unconciously FLOORING IT!  it makes me want to cut back and forth between lanes.  ditto shackler.  but thankfully the album is mostly ballads and soft songs after that.  otherwise, i'd probably be in jail for vehicular manslaughter by now!!!

sometimes when this i love comes on, i just have to pull over onto the shoulder of the road and take a break from everything.  mainly from the guitar solo on through the final chorus.  maybe if i had windshield wipers on my eyeballs it wouldn't be a problem.

not really.

When CD came out i bought one copy to have in my car, another one off i-tunes to have on my iphone, another cd to have at home and the fan pack, i'm gonna order the vinyl version now, since i only got a turn table a couple of weeks ago.

But, my point is, i had the cd in my car since it came out and that was all i listened to and still do, i just think i'm getting tired of it, so i'm gonna give it a rest for a while.

I don't really feel like driving slow to listen to more of the cd, i guess if that ever happened, it prolly just happened in the first week or so.

Yes. Especially Street of Dreams. That song just chills me out, period. When i need to de-stress, i play it.

Overall, CD has a calming influence on me. Which is a good thing. lol

This a funny thread....

Yes and no for me.

SCRAPED became this anthem for me on Friday... as I was leaving work I was getting on the pedal. The lyrics screamed to me since I had such a shitty week last week. I hate my job with a passion.

And it fuels my racing fuel... yes I have a fast car and I do drive it like it was meant to be driven.

I'm gonna use Scraped for my next racing video.

I play TIL so much that it keeps me mellow. I am so not tired of The CD!  I don't even want to see WICKED one last time before it leaves Chicago. All I want to listen to is CHINESE DEMOCRACY right now!

WICKED is phenomenal. It's one of my favorite musicals. I rock out to the soundtrack too... lol. Once I was listening to it... obscenely loud in my muscle car at a car show... I got nothing but strange looks. Then I blasted some Better.

I have a lot of fun listening to Chinese in my car. The dynamics really come out well in the car speakers.

Don't know. apart from occasional fights in the car, I have no road rage experience.  Smiley

I'm careful not to let my car fly when I play shackler's.
