The cut-off date for nominations is September 30th.  Any albums released between October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008 are considered.  So GNR's album would be eligable for the next year.

It would be fantastic if CD was selected for a category in the Grammys. But because they are not part of the record industry and are only concerned with certain 'groups and singers' G&R will be disregarded as an outsider. Plus if they did pick CD in one of their categories do you think Axl will show up??? I really don't think so. On the lighter side I think CD has more integrity and substance than any of those industry so called groups that released their music in 2008. Aside from Ac-dc and Metallica what was released that really moved the public?
I'm looking forward for the following to be released:
A new Ozzy cd
A new Zepp (Jimmy, John, Jason and some singer : )
A new Queensryche
A new Iron Maiden (or did they already release their new one yet?)
and of course..........another G&R cd................maybe call this one :Destruction of Gramaphonic Industries........... rofl
