Well...so much for that going back to LA.
Congrats Dodgers fans...I picked them to get swept by the Cards dominant pitching. Remind me to pick against my own team come 2010.

Isn't it kinda funny that Pujols was the one that wasn't clutch and A-rod has been to this point.

No need for an order from TLR, that's just the way that city will react.
But the thing is, TLR DID place the order.
I don't like cheering for failure. Class or not, it reminds me of what's wrong with this country. Like kids playing for ties in soccer and sharing juice boxes with their opponent after the game.
There's an assrape waiting for the Dodgers in Philly.

Easy there, as said before - tough to be clutch when you're not getting pitched to.
I mean seriously....

Tony's request had no effect of the fans reaction, that's just how the STL fans are. I've seen it time and time again over the years with numerous players.
I'm sticking with the Dodgers over either, they're playing well and have that "look" to me.
I pray to the baseball gods (bet the network is too) that the Rockies do not beat the Phils, that would be "Don't see TV"..

I'd love to see a Phils/Dodgers series. I think that would be a fun one to watch.

game 3 getting postponed really helps the phils. now they can use all left-handed starters against the rockies (or have mostly lefties in their lineup), with Lee pitching game 4 on regular rest. hopefully they are able to take advantage.
is pavano really the best starting option for the twins??? you gotta be kidding me. it's barely worth watching.
does papelbum only throw fastballs? he was terrible. what an exciting ending to the game.

Either way dude, the Redbirds will win the NL Central again next year, and shouldn't encounter any problems doing so. Maybe the Cubs can take Holliday off your hands, they embrace failure.
PLEEEEASE let the Rockies beat the Phillies!
Four days between games, that's a long time. The Dodgers will get rusty and lose.

Too many personel questions for me to even think about next year.
I want Holliday back with the Birds On The Bat, one fuck up shouldn't define his time as a Cardinal. Hell, they would have
never
got there without him.
Unfortunately, I think he'll end up moving on via free agency. He's an 18-20 million dollar a year guy and that's probably not going to happen in St Louis. Albert's due in a new contract in 2011 and if you give Holliday 20 million, what's El Hombre going to get??
Frightening.
I think the Dodgers will be just fine, Torre won't let them lose focus during the layoff - no way no how.
Pilf - pulling for the Yanks to dispose of the Twinkies tonight though Pavano looks sharp early...

pilferk - i thought you didn't cheer AGAINST teams. i knew you had it in ya!
but more seriously, aren't the red sox a better matchup for the yanks? they owned them after the 8 straight losses early in the season, and it just seems the angels are clearly the better team. but i don't watch many AL games throughout the year.
Not cheering against them, actually. Or not in the way you mean. In this case it was:
If the Sox lose tonight there are one of two outcomes. A) The Angels win the series and get the team that always worries me most in the playoffs because of the rivalry aspect or B) The series goes 5 games and both teams come in worn out.
The Sox are never a better playoff matchup, IMHO. They usually overperform against the Yanks, especially in the playoffs. I'd rather play LA, with a home field advantage. I think you'd find that most Yanks fans would agree.
And, provided we manage to beat the Twins one of the next 3, with the Sox implosion today, that's what we'll get.

Not so far....and I expect him to continue to pitch lights out this game (now, hopefully that will jinx him). I swear he just hates the Yankees.....
