the funyn thing is i had been watching this show off and on... My roomie and I were flippin back n forth between this finale and the sugar bowl... he wanted me to go back to the game and i told him i wanted to wait and see what it was.. he then asked me what i would do if GNR were #1.. I laughed at him and said it wasnt gonna happen... then it was.. totally made my night! ok

I watched the show the last two nights, so I saw all the songs in the top 40. When there was only one spot remaining, I knew it had to be "WTTJ." It's good to see GNR get the respect they deserve.

On the show Sebastian Bach said Axl is "the greatest singer that ever lived."

I was watching. Made me really really happy. I like that kind of vindication. When a huge media outlet says "Your favorite band is the best band ever".

I turned it on when they were at #9.  9-2, no GNR, thought they might have been 11 or 10.   Was pretty psyched when it was number 1.

FINALLY GNR is ahead of Nirvana on these lists.  About time.

When it got down to the last song it was all or nothing.  I'm surprised they only had ONE song in the top 100, but I guess you can't be too picky.  Only a couple bands had multiple entries (Van Halen, ACDC, The Who, Led Zeppelin).

ok Nice to see VH1 finally getting over their Kurt Cobain hard-on.  Only reason these fucking suicide cowards are turned into martyrs is so the leeches can cash in.  If Eddie Vedder had killed himself we'd see Jeremy at the top of all these lists.

I agree. It is about time GNR beat out Nirvana.  WTTJ will always be a classic!

here in Philly the entire countdown is being shown again today ( saturday ), starting at 4 with the final 20 songs from 8 to 9.  So if you just want to see Axl, turn it on at 8:50   Grin

It's possible they didn't view "Sweet Child O' Mine" as hard enough to be on the list, though you could certainly argue with some of the other songs on there.  "Paradise City" was just given the shaft straight up.  I thought for sure it would've been somewhere on there.

Oh please. Just another one of your "tricks".

Did you post the same kind of messages in those threads where Chinese Democracy or songs from it were praised by "outsiders"?
