proof the band stands the test of time

I'd like a Grammy's performance more than either at this point. I really think the album needs to get out there more. Imagine Sorry at the Grammy's. Who could possibly follow that? To answer the question, I would rather a tour to promote the album out already which is pure gold.

I would like to hear the music on Chinese Democracy performed live but I feel Axl should go the way of the Beatles and just perfect the music and take that as far as possible. I think there would be a high level of respect if Axl did this as well because really, nobody does this or is capable musically. It was a bold move by the Beatles and it would be for Axl as well.

I say a  new album once again just because, once they release another new album, they can THEN tour and we will get to hear even more new music. so that is a slam dunk.

Less Appetite, more CD and the next album.

So you can complain about them playing songs the audiences don't know?  Tongue

They could play all of Chinese Democracy on the next tour and you'd find something to complain about.

It's the way to be the "objective fan". Nothing is good enough.

You already know that, before a show has even been announced!

Is any part of what is posted here correct/accurate or is it just pure speculation?

A Likely Scenario

With the BEST BUY exclusive expiring this MAY just in time for the SUMMER FESTIVAL season, it's very likely that we'll see a re-issue of CHINESE DEMOCRACY at that time.

The re-issue will likely feature enhanced artwork, a new booklet, the two alternate covers and ONE ADDITIONAL TRACK.

At this point, ROBIN FINCK and Guns N' Roses will be poised to kick off their tour overseas before returning to the States in August where they may or may not headline LOLLAPALOOZA.

We can also expect Guns to at least schedule a LATE-FALL release for CHINESE DEMOCRACY II (or whatever Axl decides to title it), with an accompanying SHORT US ARENA RUN.

I think Axl mentioned most of those in his posts.

where they may or may not headline LOLLAPALOOZA.

Correct. GN'R may or may not headline that thing.  rofl

Seriously! Are there other alternatives? You play or you don't play.

That's what Axl said.

Seems to me like most of this is just putting what Axl said together into one piece and adding some guesses to the mix...

Yes, but what he adds to them?

The Best Buy exclusive expiring in May (six months), US arena run and the additional track?  I may have some more reading to do.  Smiley

All of those can be guessed.

Six months seems like a reasonable guess for how long the exclusivity is for.

How often do artists re-release albums with bonus content?

A tour? Arenas? Like in 2006? Why not....

Like I said, to me it looks like he read what Axl posted and added some possible scenarios (guesses) to it.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to come up with the idea that the band might tour in 2009!

I was more interested in if I had missed the part about the BB exclusive and the additional track, but it looks like I did not.  Yes, he is just guessing.  Thanks.

To be honest its been so long since we had new music, I'd take the album. Just to be sure! Especially as Axl saw Chinese Democracy as being a double album, perhaps CD isn't complete yet?

But I 'm also really excited for another tour. Especially if they could play Reading Festival next year. That would be awesome!

As for re-releasing....well naturally anything new gets me excited, but to re-release with new covers and a booklet MIGHT make me feel a little short changed, as if the original wasn't what was intended to go out?

That seems to be what Axl was saying - that the release we got was with work-in-progress artwork, unapproved by Axl. Of course, when I suggested this as a possibility a couple of months back, I was shouted down for being 'negative'.

Having already bought the CD, Vinyl, iTunes version (since the mp3 version was inexplicably excluded from the European vinyl) and the overpriced fan pack, I certainly won't be emptying my wallet again just to get the artwork that the disc should have been released with in the first place - I.E. The artwork Axl wanted.

On topic, so long as the songs are of a good quality, I'd always pick a new album of new songs over a tour.

I know what you mean, but we'd love to know if they'll really tour in 2009. The problem is: the band MIGHT tour, but we can't be sure. Sad
I'd love to believe in that guy - he said that Robin will tour with Guns - but we're still in the dark. I'm happy, the album's out, but a tour and a video would make the album sell even more... and we'll see the band we love playing live! Well, it'll be a dream. I've never seen Guns live. Sad

I'm sure Best Buy will be thrilled to hear that the band will begin promoting the album once their exclusive runs out.

Will There Be Another Guns N Roses Album This Year

by Music-News.com - January 6 2009

There may be another Guns N Roses album this year if you read between the lines in the recent Axl Rose web chats.

Rose has alluded that a follow up to "Chinese Democracy" could soon see the light of day after finally breaking his silence over the long awaited album.

Speaking to various fan forums and message boards, the singer said there was a wealth of material left over which could be released in the near future. "For now we'll concentrate and keep our focus on this album but I will say I've always thought of it as a double," he said.
