Not sure what I would prefer a tour or as Axl N' company have hinted at a new album for 2009...Don't get me wrong I am thouraghly enjoying CD, more tahn I expected.....I kept away the greedy thoughts of a new album until Axl stated possibly this time next year....

I think he said something like same time next year. Meaning a new album could be out as soon as at end of 2009.

I don't doubt that they could both tour and put out the album.

Like you might know, Chinese Democracy was held up due to many things. Things that weren't necessarily related to the record itself.

Once you've managed to get through that storm, it's a lot sunnier on the other side and the continued journey is a lot smoother....

Tour, with Zakk Wylde fillin in for Finck. Or better yet, bring back Buckethead. Bumblefoot's great, but he can't replicate Buckethead's parts.

I could really dig a tour with Zakk  ok. I would love it if Robin was there but Zakk would do a great job. But only if they let everyone know that he is just filling in.

Im feeling a bit greedy and wanting a new record and tour. But I guess overall I would want the tour more. As much as I love CD nothing compares to a live GN'R show. Or several GN'R shows.

I'll take the album... not that a tour wouldn't be nice. Saw them in 2002 and 2006 in Cleveland... but each of those shows were a mere 2 hours in length (both were amazing)... while an album is FOREVER. So definitely a new album!!!

That's pretty much what I was going to say. I've saw them in both 2002 and 2006 and it was awesome, but I'd way rather have another cd that I can listen to every day instead of seeing a concert.

Why, so they can follow up an album that took over a decade to put out with a retread of one the old band made 18 years ago?

That would go down about as well as diarrhea in a spacesuit.

Tour tour tour!

albums last forever You can enjoy them at home even when you're too old to rock at a 2 hour gig.

zakk wylde is a douchebag.  i wouldnt mind seeing bumblefoot playing all robin's parts and then seeing buckethead return.

now to answer the question, if i had choose, i would rather see a new album, but there is no reason why both cannot be done this year.

I think a new album in 2009 is unlikely--it would affect sales for CD. A tour is more likely, and I hope they do it so I can see some of the new songs performed live.
