Dec 30th clarification from Richard:

"OK, it seems that I am being misquoted once again.  I never said that Gn'R would be playing St. Louis, nor did i say that we will be doing free shows or that we are starting a 2 year tour in March!  Selective hearing.  Never said it. "

Pale Divine to reunite in St. Louis

Former guitarist also hints at Guns N? Roses show here

December 26, 2008

But the coming year or two with another band will keep Fortus busy and traveling, as he has been a rhythm and sometime lead guitarist with Guns N' Roses.

GN'R fans will be opening up the gift of the long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" release today, and Fortus can be heard on some of the album's cuts.

A legendary story in the world of rock was birthed on July 2, 1991, when Axl Rose stormed off the stage at Riverport Amphitheater, ticked at a photog snapping pics of him in the audience. The fans there rioted, causing loads of damage to the then-new venue.

STL fans of GN'R since have known a chance of Rose's return to the Gateway City was seemingly impossible. In fact, Fortus and Rose have a little joke about it.

"There has been talk of us doing a Love tour, a tour of all the cities where there have been riots, and doing free shows," Fortus said in a recent telephone interview. "That might happen."

The guitar player would love to do a St. Louis date, so his parents don't have to drive to Chicago or Kansas City to see him on stage with Rose and Co. Regardless, he said, late March should bring the GN'R tour, which likely will last at least two years.

bad ass, a tour that'll last that long is bound to come my way. But with those two years i'm thinkin' its gonna be just that long till the next album comes out, so with that i guess its good and bad news but i'll take it.

A two year tour would be a great way to promote the album across the world.  I think that is a great idea and I hope it comes to fruition.

Also, I think everyone should keep in mind that this isn't official yet, so don't bank on it just yet.

I think he mentioned the free tour during the KSHE interview he gave a month ago.  And I seem to recall Tommy mentioning it a couple few years ago.

No, not free!  Do you know how many people from all over the planet would show up?  I'm happy paying the price and having a not so crowded show.  I'm okay with the people from all over the planet thing too but no more than can fit in my house.

He did, and that interview was from October.  That's probably where the quote was taken from.  Although I'd like to, I wouldn't put too much stock in this interview.

He has given more than one interview with the St. Louis press regarding this reunion show.

It would be great to see them do a two year tour.  Smiley

Sorry guys, I'm not making Richard's show here.  I'm sure KSHE will track him down or the Riverfront Times so maybe we will get some more current information.

Maybe Chris will drive over or more like swim, the roads are going to be very wet between here and KC.  And if he's coming, he needs to come in 70 to 170, get off at Delmar and go left, avoid 40/61 like the plague.

Yeah, that actually would be a great thing for them to do.  Give them real good publicity, which never hurts.  If they were to play a "lovefest tour" for Philly, Vancouver, St. Louis, etc.  Sounds good to me, but again I wouldn't get too excited about the prospects.
