Readers' Poll: 10 Best Albums

We asked you, the Billboard.com readers, what your favorite album of 2008 was, and more than 16,000 of you heeded the call. Here are ten albums that snagged the most votes, a list that ranges from music by three mega-selling divas; rock acts old and new; finalists from another season of "American Idol"; plus a few surprises!

1. Britney Spears, "Circus"

2. David Archuleta, "David Archuleta"

3. David Cook, "David Cook"

4. Mariah Carey, "E=MC2"

5. Elisa, "Dancing"

6. Guns N' Roses, "Chinese Democracy"

7. Beyonce, "I Am... Sasha Fierce"

8. Panic At The Disco, "Pretty. Odd."

9. RBD, "Best of RBD"

10. Anastacia, 'Heavy Rotation."

^ Most people nowadays see music as solely entertainment and not as an art form unfortunately.

It seems to be the way of the music world as we know it, lately.

CD is the only album that deserved to be in there.

Look at that list though. Its like Chinese Democracy has cracked thru a lot of teenage people. We really have to be astounded by this considering Metallica isn't there and that list is basically aimed at the teenage crowd .

guess people in the wide age group appreciate this 'average good' album far better than metallicas, acdcs or whatever a few posters named.  Grin

I'm surprised Panic at the Disco made the top ten. I didn't know there were that many homo/metro-sexuals to make that happen.

At least Kanye didn't make it.

The main reason why Britney is up there at number one is because she's been in the public tabloids the last three years. You know all the drama that went on with her....shaving her hair.....and so on. I'm sure there is not one good song on her new cd.  rofl

And unlike GN'R, she's on the cover of the magazines every month with her latest emotional breakdown.

You can't.

You see, none of the albums before GN'R are rock or by a band.....  Grin

So, in other words, GN'R beat both Metallica and AC/DC..... And all the other bands who released albums in 2008.
