Bootleg trailer, official one comes out tomorrow.  No reason I can think of as to why this won't be awesome.

See, I thought the first one was decent, the 2nd one less so, and the 3rd one was complete shit.   None of them up the the level of the Spidey movies, or the recent Batman movies, but the 1st was a decent summer popcorn flick.

That last one, though.......ye gods.  They should wipe it out as an alternate reality event.  I understand wanting to intro "Dark Pheonix"...it's one of the best Xmen storylines of the comics...but they really screwed the pooch on the implementation of it.  Horrible writing, bad cinemetography, bad sound, boring action sequences, poor storytelling, plot holes big enough to drive juggernaut THROUGH, and diverging enough from the comic cannon to piss off just about every x-fan on the planet...X3 had it all.  They couldn't even get Beast right!

You use the Spidey movies as a measuring stick? Those were so bad. X-Men and X-2 blow them away. Maybe the two best Marvel movies. But back on topic, Wolverine looks good, but not sure how they are gonna tie in Sabertooth with the first X-men movie.

first one was a good origin story, but a bit boring.  X2 was awesome.  X3 was ok - I don't know the comics that well, but I did hear it pissed off a lot of the die hard fans.  definitely some "HUH, WHAT THE FUCK" moments for sure.

Dark Knight has set the bar high for super hero movies.  Iron man was awesome.

Yup, to date I think the new Batflicks, and the Spidey flicks are probably the benchmarks for the comic superhero adaptations.  And while YOU might think they're bad, it seems a whole HOST of people (from reviewers to consumers to comic fans to....well, a good sized majority of folks) agree.  They might not be to your tastes...fair enough.  But while Xmen and X2 might favorably compare to Spidey 3 (IMHO, X1 being better and X2 being roughly equivalent..but I can see those flip flopping based on your tastes), the first 2 Spidey's blow them away.....with Spidey 2 getting my nod for the best of the bunch.

Of course, Dark Knight, IMHO, is now the pinacle.

I agree, too, with Hil-Dog....Iron man was VERY good.  I'd still peg the first two Spidey's a bit higher, but it was easily better than Spidey 3.

I'm actually rooting for Watchmen to be even better...but we'll see.

Dark Knight was good, but not as good as Batman. Because of Ledgers performance, Dark Knight gets more credit than it deserves. The story is very unfocused and its not as faithful as everyone thinks it is.  Batman and Superman are still the benchmarks for comic movies. Iron Man was great, too. The Spiderman movies are way over-rated. Spiderman 2 was just a beat for beat remake of Spiderman.

Batman as in Keaton/Bassinger/Nicholson Batman?

Superman as in Christopher Reeve Superman?

yes, the actual titles of those movies are Batman and Superman.

So are the 1943 and 1966 versions of Batman.

And many people use the moniker "Superman" for the "Superman: The return" reboot.

So, in both cases, I figured best to clarify.

I disagree, in both cases, btw.  The Burton version of Batman was too cartoony, for my tastes (though not nearly as bad as the god awful follow ups with Clooney).  It, too, benefitted from a GREAT Joker with Jack...and the criticism you lay at the feet of Dark Knight I feel much more closely fits this version.  As a Batman fan for the past 25+ years, in the comics, I thought Keaton's Bruce was a bit too glib, and his Batman a bit too "robotic".  And Bassinger as Vail was just horrible.

For Superman:The Movie...it's right up there.  I think time and technology have passed it by, though.  For pure story, I'd rank it in the top 5....killing off Clark's "Dad" being the big knock against continuity.  The bridge of the movie is a little slow, too...and I always felt the ending was a cop out (the turning back time "trick").  It was a good origin story.  Of the series, I actually prefer Superman II....but some of the acting in that really holds it back.

The Donner director's cut of Superman 2 really does flesh it out even more.

agree. Spidey movies are just the best. the new batman are ok, because I just love Christian Bale.
X men movies...well...pretty cheap.
