Axl's MYGNR/HTGTH late night interview

I don't know if this was planned this way, but either way it was a genius play: not only THE MAN comes here to the foruns to speak to the fans (and breaking his silence directly with us), but it generates such a stir that every music website re-post what he has said.
Is almost as he gave an interview in wich he controlled (sort of) what he wanted to say, made us extremely happy, shared personal information and interesting information and also made the headlines of the music bizz.

Thanks Axl! And thanks to Jarmo and Co. and to the crew over mygnr for this. 2008 has proven to be the best year of this century so far!

A little history lesson for the Catcher In The Rye fans 

Thats the poem that  influenced J. D. Salinger to reference in the book. Its a very old poem from the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. The references in the book Holden Caulfield makes to "coming through the rye" are based on that original Scottish poem.

Its not written in English, but true Scottish dialect - "a body"  means a person, "anybody" - but specifically implying somebody. Its confusing to people who dont understand Scottish language, I understand people can have difficulty understanding the different uses of english phrases and words. Throw in ancient Scottish dialects of English its impossible for non English speaking nationalities to grasp.

Basically the line Axl uses "How a body took a body"  relates to  Holden Caulfield referring to the old rhyme throughout the book.

The language "how a body took a body" originates in the Scottish poem I posted a few weeks ago.

Think "a body" as a soul, or human being.

The reference to the gun I assume has a direct connection with Mark Chapman.

As someone with a pretty deep interest in poetry and literature, that makes me love Catcher just a bit more than before. 

It was a "canny" use of language from Axl (sorry I'm lapsing into Scottish dialect again  )

It was in this thread that I read the whole start of this thing, for the first time.  Unfuckingbelievable. I can't believe anyone would try to do a "go-round" with Axl, himself!  Jarmo, maybe, but....(only kidding).

Well, I guess if anyone questioned WHY Axl stays quiet, and why BBF, et al, are so leary of speaking...it is obviously because these media a-holes will twist whatever is said, without regard for any semblance of context or even truth, to something negative that fits their jaded opinion.  I hope this does not affect this very exciting, and refreshing, open communication between Axl and the fans...it would be a shame to let these shit sprinklers rain on that parade...of course Axl did say you need an umbrella to be in the band!
