Let's talk about Catcher!!

Who's 1st?

Right here! Who wrote the piano part? And what are the chords? I've been trying to figure it out! It's beautiful.

I loved the demo of that song. Why change the fading out version ala "Hey Jude" to the finished one for the album ?

Axl, not to say I don't love the selected solo, but what prompted you to remove Brian May's work?

Dude

Catcher would be the best video ever if you put the same thought into it like the trilogy ones.

The song is amazing, and sounds SO MUCH 'BETTER' then any previous version that any of us 'might' have heard before. Absolutely the most improved song from the leaks, bar none!

I love Catcher and especially the demo

Was it a very hard choice removing Brian May's work?

Axl,

Can you clear up if Slash actually did come by your place bad mouthing Duff, Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland?

Also have you read Slash's book and would you like to make any comments or do you have an autobiography in line?

I am loving the album, have made 6 of my friends buy it even though they were unsure.

Cheers,
Alex

why was brian may's guitar part taken off from the album? and he seems upset when fans told him that

wasn't catcher going to release on a differen't album?

Mike Piazza??? hihi

absolutly love 'catcher' (the song!) was it hard to take Brian May's parts down - being such a huge fan of Queen yourself?
and if you could - what/where was the inspiration in writing the track - sounds Beatles esq. ... a tribute to Lennon perhaps?

The sound of The Blues was a lot different when you played it in '01 - a bit of a faster tempo, the vocals were higher and it had a riff in the beginning and through the bridges that was basically taken out for the final version (although I did notice the electric guitar was put back in on the final cut).

Just wondering - do recorded copies of the '01 version of the song exist? I love the final track too, don't get me wrong, but I loved the arrangement on the original, before it was changed, as well. Do you think we'll ever get some sort of "Rarities" box set with original session demos or anything years from now?

It's one of my least favorites on the album. It starts good but then, I don't know... cannot help it. Sorry.
Maybe it still needs to grow on me... ? I dunno.

Axl/Dexter, I'm fixing to pack everyhting I own into my car and drive out to L.A. from Arkansas to give a career in music a shot. Any advice? Or should I just shit in my pants, dive in and swim?

Follow your heart, don't sell out and read every book on the biz u can find.

Thanks Dex. I am tryin myself to follow that advice even though I am a nothing Myspace musician! haha!
