I still like it.. its something different than the norm. I meant lean towards the right in my previous post.. sorry for the error

I think people are so use to left wing dominated media, when someone actually comes on and questions the liberals, they are automatically labeled this or that simply cause no one has ever really taken on the left. Bill may be more right than left, but at least both sides are represented.. u can say he brings on a weak liberal to debate or maybe every once in a while the liberal is wrong......

shocking still, how dems or repubs can never admit fault... its why i usually ignore it. it gets nauseating.

Like if I question Obama, I am automatically a Republican or racist or both............. someone explain to me how they can't even secure the White House during a party but are going to secure the country?

Doesn't that make u just a tad nervous?

I still think people miss the boat on Bill O Reilly

reason he is fair and balanced is, whatever issue there is, he has a democrat and a republican on his show to debate it. He interrupts those who are trying to dodge the question or are spinning and I like that.

so maybe he leans a bit towards the left.. but on his show, both sides are represented and that is the best u can do. have a dem and a rep on and let the audience decide who they support.

It's not about having one on the right and one on the left.  First, if we count Bill himself then it's 2 on 1, by default.  Second, he (and Hannity, perhaps moreso) have a habit of picking the most ridiculously wussified liberals they can find, who come on and give these weak kneed defenses of their beliefs.  Take Hannity and Colmes, for example.  It was Hannity, being strong, decisive, and aggressive and Colmes being a big pussy.  And then they say it's "fair and balanced" because you have a conservative and a liberal, when every liberal who watched is embarrassed by the lame defense Colmes offers up.

D's point is correct. O'Reilly actually has very strong left-leaning guests on, sometimes by themselves. the "left" opinion is made and heard. if you watched you would know that.

Every time I've watched, I've seen something very different from what you describe.

but you haven't watched in over a year. and i'm guessing you were never a regular viewer of any kind.

i don't watch frequently, but one example is some black dude i've seen on there quite a few times (he might be a teacher from Temple University), and he brings his opinions HARD. always been one-on-one with Bill and i've never seen them agree on anything. he's a real smart dude too.

in the little i've seen of the other talking heads, i don't see many opposing opinions being heard on their shows.

as for Obama and the Dems, they are not in serious trouble until the indy's start disapproving.

I just don't like the Obama can do no wrong supporters.. If it were Bush and some uninvited guest made their way through White House Security, there would be a thread 200 posts strong about it...

I just want people to be fair... I am frightened of people who are so left or right they find no fault in their party.

that just doesn't go for Obama, but to people that never could admit Bush's failures.

Back to O'Reilly, I use to watch pretty regularly, but he began to annoy me so I haven't watched in over a year or so. If i were to watch a show like that, I would still tune into his over anyone elses' show.

Nervous?  Nope.  Was I nervous when a reporter chucked a shoe at W?  No.
When 3,000+ people died in an attack that obliterated the WTC, hit the Pentagon, and almost hit the White House, THAT made me a little nervous/concerned. (boy, I wonder if that would have been a central theme of conservative pundits had President Obama been prez in 2001  Roll Eyes )
D, who called you racist?

btw, for the record, obviously, I'm a big supporter of the president, but I've never said he's infallible or "the chosen one" or any of that nonsense.
I have supported the war in Afghanistan and still do.  I would like to see us extricate ourselves from Iraq at a more rapid pace, but I trust the president.  Why?  He takes a cerebral approach..."by the gut" is unacceptable as the leader of the free world.
The Dow is up 25% this year, S&P is up 20%, and Nasdaq, what, 35%?  It's been a good year for those with the guts (and money) to invest.
I will be a lot happier when the very wealthy are paying their fair share (which yes, means a higher % than the rest of us pay)
I will be happier when everyone is required to possess health insurance.
I would be happier if capital punishment was ended...and yes, I'd be happier with real prisons being designed for violent offenders ("lifers") that was (to put it mildly) extremely harsh, just shy of "cruel and unusual."   Wink

Perhaps I've just had poor luck.  Anyway, as I said these shows, left or right, don't appeal much to me.  I have no interest in hearing a party/ideological line on the news, regardless of which side it comes from, and when MSNBC decided to be the Fox of the left it was very disappointing.

If it were Bush and some uninvited guest made their way through White House Security, there would be a thread 200 posts strong about it...

Really?  Seems like a Secret Service issue to me.  I can't imagine someone thinking that this is the President's fault.

Thanks Mr Trash!

I just have always believed in shedding titles and judging people on their ideas and what they've done and not some title.

Guy is a democrat, i am voting for him
Guy is a republican so i am voting for him

just nonsense

I have people in my family who walk in the booth and pull the Democrat lever to vote for everybody and that frightens me.

I think some of Obama's luster is fading...... I wonder if he will get that 2nd term?

Be honest.  Mr Trash is your second identity, isn't he.

I just have always believed in shedding titles and judging people on their ideas and what they've done and not some title.

Guy is a democrat, i am voting for him
Guy is a republican so i am voting for him

just nonsense

Not nonsense.  Those titles mean something.  They tell us what those candidates believe.  That doesn't mean you vote for corrupt people or bad people just because of party, but most of the time a candidate's party is the biggest piece of information we can get, simply because it tells us what that candidate believes on the issues.

I think some of Obama's luster is fading...... I wonder if he will get that 2nd term?

I'm sure the Dems will lose some seats come November, as is almost always the case in midterm elections, and the talking heads will make hay out of it.  But it's far too early to say what will happen in 2012.  The Obama/McCain election was +5 for McCain on September 7 and +9 for Obama just a month later.  If a month can move the electorate 14 points, how can we possibly speculate on something 2 1/2 years away, without knowing his opponent and, most importantly, the condition of the economy?  But that's what it really comes down to.  If Obama can get healthcare passed as his "signature win", then he proves he can tackle big things that we've been struggling with for decades.  If the economy is recovering and unemployment is in decline, then those two things will likely lead to him winning.  But, that said, anything is possible, and there's too much between now and then to predict.  What if he's down 5 in October 2012 and then we catch/kill bin Laden?  That one event could send his approval through the roof.

You are right.

Republicans may not   gain a majority in congress but they will take seats and Dems will lose their supermajority they currently have. Why do you think Obama and Pelosi/Reid are ramming thru bills? They have a small window to do so.

And then when the backlash reaches a fever pitch and republicans take over congress and maybe the white house in 2012 what then? We'll get screwed in a different way. Seems like it is always the lesser of 2 evils that we vote for.

One thing Dems and Republicans agree on is keeping out a 3rd party.

While you didn't say it outright, I think this statement you've made hits on the very problem we have.  The idea that Dems could still have majorities in both houses and control the Presidency but their window closes because they lose a SUPERmajority?  I wonder when we stopped believing in democracy and majority rule.  The filibuster, in my opinion, should be used in only the rarest of occasions, but it's become a constant test that all legislation/nominations must pass.

One thing Dems and Republicans agree on is keeping out a 3rd party.

That's for damned sure.  With regard to this, neither of our two major parties has believed in democracy for a LONG time.  no
