B.O. is a hypocrite! That is my point. He talks about "sacrifice" when there is obviously no sacrifice coming from this family at all.

You even go back to the flyover that scared people in NYC. He got a good laugh out of that blaming it on the daughters in a joking manner a few days later. I'm not the one telling everyone to "sacrifice" and how everyone needs to regulate how much energy they use. Simply, I could care less. But what I do have a problem with is that every time B.O. goes on business for this country, he takes his family and who ever else is in is posse around the world on a vacation trip. How about he lead by example? If your going to spew the shit he spews, at least walk the walk.

Again, you bring up his salary as a pathetic argument. I wouldn't care if he made a million dollars a year. I'm not one of these people who want to go after and tax the "greedy rich" and make them pay for all of these government run entitlement programs. But don't sit there and tell the country they need to cut back and tighten their belts while his family lives like their on holiday every day and taking trips to Paris to celebrate a child's birthday and go on shopping sprees. Don't tell me that I should cut back and make sacrifices while you live life as a luxury.

You ask who cares? A lot of people care. Read the AP, that's where I read about the shoes and the purse. The shoes happened a couple of months ago when she went to a soup kitchen or some charity outfit while she strutted around in her expensive shoes. The purse just happened this past week. Meanwhile, people back home are losing their jobs and finding it even harder to make ends meet at a rapid pace more and more everyday.

How's that stimulus working out for unemployment? Sure is creating a lot of jobs isn't it?

I'm not sure what "parading around like Hollywood starlets" means, and I have a feeling that you'd say that if they were back home as the only reason to believe they're "parading" is because the press constantly follows them and there's plenty of money and ritz in Chicago.

I don't like big govt though and I feel the govt is just taking over everything.

I think it's perfectly fair to be critical, but according to something I heard on the news today, only about 10% of the stimulus money has yet been spent.  The President was forthright in saying that this recession won't be fixed overnight, that unemployment would likely top 10% before going back down, and that this would all go well into next year.  Here it is, July, and most have forgotten those facts and are back to a "why ain't it fixed yet?!?!" mentality.  So, yes, things are getting worse (at least economically), but that's to be expected.  Keep in mind that our first thoughts of this economy being bad only occurred late last summer.

Now, as for the size of gov't, I think there are fair concerns there and, perhaps, unfair as well.  I am concerned about the government ownership of business assets.  But you do unusual things in a crisis situation.  Will it be permanent or is it only during the recession and a period of corporate restructuring?  I do not know.  But I think one would be acceptable and the other, to most Americans, would not.  If we stay as majority or even large minority owners in companies like GM, I think the public will find that unpalatable.  So, to some extent, I think time will tell regarding that particular criticism (which you didn't specifically raise). 

Now, as for the rest of your "big govt" concern...well, to some extent things are being pursued that were promised.  Health care w/ a public option, for example, is an increase in government (and one which I fully support).  I'm curious whether you're against all such expansions or if it varies from case to case (as I'm against long run government ownership of companies but for public option health care).

We do need to do somethhng about health care. Most bankruptcies are about medical bills than anything else. People also have to start taking better care of themselves. The obesity rates are just ridiculous.

I heard something about Obama releasing the Gitmo prisoners and one is now back leading an Afghan army against us?

In my opinion, the girl was dressed like a slut and looked like a piece of trash to me, not to mention the trash she was obviously being accompanied with. If a young girl, especially a girl who's father holds the position he does, who can dress herself and goes out in public looking like that will receive my criticism.

In my opinion, I think she should dress a lot more respectful. Her father isn't a community organizer anymore. Do you really think she's setting a good example by looking like that and hanging around with who ever that was? I don't. Like you keep saying, she's 11 years old. Her outfit isn't terrible, if she was just a regular 11 year old, but if you are the daughter of the president, you need to act, dress like it.  These are not the clothes the children of great powerful people should be wearing.  And I agree her friend doesn't really fit the bill either.  She is trying to look sexy with the short shorts on.  No other reason to wear shorts that tight and short than to look hot. She wants to look hot.  That is fair, who doesn't.  That is why Michele or Barack step in and say, "put some damn clothes on".  Oh well.  Not terrible, but not Presidential either.

My God, you make a lot of shit up.  I don't think you're into 11 year old girls (or boys for that matter).  I think you were being critical, but when I claimed that you were doing so you and that that played into your "she better get used to it" comment, you immediately professed that I was making shit up.  So...when you say she looks slutty, you're either being critical or complementary; thus, you either dislike it or like it.  I assume you don't like it, so therefore your slutty comment is a criticism, which you believe she had better get used to.  Now, are you too fucking slow to follow that or just being obstinate?

Anyway, this demonstrates just how fucked up this process was in the first place.  If someone is a POW, treat them as a POW; if a criminal, treat as a criminal (i.e. trial & sentence).  When you take people to hold indefinitely with no real status as it relates to international or domestic law, you create these problems.  POWs are entitled to certain protections.  Criminals are entitled to defense and a trial.  By putting people somewhere in between, you create a situation where you risk losing a trial (possibly on technicalities).
