Sandman, with all due respect, a huge portion of that 72% doesn't understand why late-term abortions are necessary.
The states in which they are outlawed are states in which elected representatives pander to an uneducated populace.
You call this man an asshole.  Like I've said earlier, I sure hope to fucking God you never require the services of a doctor to save your loved one who is dealing with a pregnancy which could kill your loved one.
I sure hope you don't have a relative who was raped, perhaps by a family member...perhaps never taught the birds and bees, perhaps ashamed she may have brought on the disgusting act, perhaps a few months away from bearing a child of incest.  Here's a big "fuck you" to anybody denying her the right to end that pregnancy. 

...and like Freedom said, why do reeeal Republicans want the government of all institutions in everybody's bedrooms and doctor's offices?  Real Republicans from back in the day were true to their "small government" principles.  Today's GOP has sold their soul to the religious wrong, err, I mean religious "right" fringe.  Thank God they have, because it's what helped them lose in '08, and it's what 'll take 'em down again in '12.

and Bodhi, just so you don't feel alone, I too want to say fuck you to all the irresponsible people out there having unprotected sex, creating fetuses that make us argue about this shit.  Abortion is a shitty thing.  Most of them don't have to happen...unfortunately, people have acted, do act, and will act irresponsibly.  These are not the folks I want procreating and raising children.     Hell, I'd be willing to tie the tubes of any teen mother...and give a vasectomy to the fucker who impregnated her.  Hell, make it reversible in 10 years...at least they'll be out of the business of making babies.  I reeeeally wish the the semen producers had some shit thrown their way too.

makes sense that Zinn would be upset with Obama, since someone like myself has been satisfied with him thus far.

my only major complaint is the spending which is ridiculous (and kind of a big thing). but he reduced taxes for the middle class and i think within a year i will have received an extra $800. although it sure sounds like there will be some tax hikes down the road to make up for it.

i would hold on to that money cause it sure sounds like there will be some kind of tax hike on the poor and middle class within the next year or so.

Jim Bob, a lot of democrats are pro life as well.  These were not all "medical" situations just like they were not all "murders".  Also if the mother was going to die, what is wrong with a C section then put the baby in an incubator if possible?  Cause its sounds like the intent is death from the get go.  Many people believe the baby has a right to live more than the mother has the right to end the baby's life.

he was in "business" for over 35 years...the 60,000 estimate comes from The Washington Times.  Maybe some of you havent done your research because you seem to believe that EVERY abortion Tiller provided was for medical reasons..   Are you guys that far gone?  It is well documented that he performed these abortions no questions asked, well besides asking for the 5,000 dollars.  This is a fact, one that he did not even deny or hide from.  I understand the pro-choice mentality, I for many years felt the same way.  To this day, while I think abortion is a terrible thing, im not for stopping a woman who wants to have an abortion, but for god sakes get it done in the first 3 months of the pregnancy, is that too much to ask?  Once you let a certain amount of time pass and that kid is almost fully developed I think its too god damn bad, you should have to have the kid and give it up for adoption if you dont want it.  There HAS to be some accountability somewhere.  How does that not make sense?  I'm not talking about taking a woman's choice away, but dont you think it should be made in a fucking reasonable amount of time?  An overwhelming majority of this country is against late term abortions, and there are a lot of pro-choice people in that group.   You can argue about the 60,000 number that is out there, but Ill go on record and say 1 late term abortion performed without a medical reason is 1 too many.  If there is a medical reason like the mothers health being in danger, the kids health being in danger or anything like that, that is a completely different story.

Actually, I admit my mistakes when I make them...unlike some folks.  I respect folks who can admit their mistakes.

Guess what?  People's families are involved in that issue.  How else can you begin to think about an issue without putting yourself in the shoes of those involved?  A logical person would say, "Wow, that would be a terrible situation.  I can kind of see why a woman or girl would need an option in that case." 

btw, how do I "not see all angles of an argument?"  How do you know what I "see?"  Yikes.

Drew, you really think America is a "Christian nation?"  Really?    That speech was amazing...even a very good friend of mine who happens to be a strong Conservative agreed.  His concern is with the follow-through.  I couldn't disagree with him there, so we'll have to wait and see.   

Bodhi, I'm glad we agree on holding those irresponsible folks accountable.  In a perfect world, there'd be no need for abortion.  Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world.  It's bad enough a lot of these women are irresponsible enough to practice safe sex at a time they are not ready to be parents...it gets even worse when you throw in the cases of rape and incest that do occur...and then the cases which threaten the health of either the fetus or mother, or both.

Yeah...we have millions (5-8 according the your article) of Muslims... more than "Muslim countries" like Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, and others.  As a percentage goes, we're not near the top.  But I doubt the Islamic world would like at America mistreating its Muslim population and argue "Meh.  It's such a small percentage of the population...it doesn't matter."  And he said EXACTLY what he meant, so what's the deal?  He wasn't claiming we're all Muslim.  He was talking numbers, and your criticism is that he should talk percentages?  Miss the point much?  He was speaking to his audience, highlighting our commonalities, and showing respect for their culture.  I know conservatives don't like that, but it has a long history of leading to good things.

Second, you can "speak the truth as best you can"...if you don't have all the information "the truth" may be false.  Some things are gray.

Third, he wasn't speaking to Jews...he was speaking to (presumably mostly Muslim) Egyptians.  And do we really need to go out of our way to highlight our commonalities with an ally, to whom we sell jts and tanks and missiles?  I think it's pretty well established.  He also didn't, on his trip to the UK, talk about how we're the biggest nation of Englishmen.  I suppose that offended, too?  Or is it just if we don't constantly demonstrate our wet dreams about Israel?

see that's what you fuckin people fail to get. at 7 months, it is a baby. it can be delivered and live. it happens every day. therefore, alot of people view that as a murder, not an abortion.

as for tiller, i am assuming he performed abortions in that 6-7 month range that were NOT for medical purposes or to protect the mother. if my assumption is true, the guy was a first class asshole. and the other late-term abortion doctors (there are less than 10 in the entire U.S.) are assholes as well.
