Yeah, God forbid we should have a president who thinks creatively.

I think he has bigger issues on his plate than worrying about what he gave the Queen as a token gift, no?

If he can't even be fucking allowed to think outside the box when it comes to a small detail like a gift, what kind of change were you people really looking for?

First it was DVD's that don't work on European players for Gordon Brown and now the Queen gets an iPod? WTF?
I heard some of the videos and pictures on the iPod were of B.O.'s inauguration. How vain is this fucking jerk-off? And some archive footage of the Queen herself. I'm sure she has no problem getting footage of herself is she wants it.
What the hell do you give the Queen?
I'd love to hear your example of a gift that could be given to her that she couldn't easily fucking get for herself.
When Obama gave the Prime Minister a region 1 DVD set, the Prime Minister gave Obama a Leather Bound First Edition set of Books on British history and brought a few out of print English Childrens Books for the Obama children. Those are what I would consider thoughtful gifts that you present to the head of a country. An iPod Touch with video clips of yourself and the recipient (not together) seems a little thoughtless. My wife would have been disapointed if I handed her the same gift for an important occasion.
I understand that this is all knit picking, but I put up with the same shit from the other side over the past 8 years... to me I find it funny how such a 'brilliant game changing' President has driopped the ball on such simple things... and important things like vetting the long line of tax evaders that he planed on filling his cabinet with.

Senate Rejects Obama Plan to Cut Tax Breaks on Charitable Gifts
By Brian Faler
April 2 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Senate rejected a proposal by President Barack Obama to finance an overhaul of the nation?s health-care system by limiting the ability of the well-to-do to take tax deductions for charitable contributions.
The chamber unanimously approved an amendment to a pending budget plan that rejects the proposal to limit the size of itemized deductions that can be taken by those earning more than $250,000.
Obama proposed using the estimated $318 billion such a change would generate to help finance a health-care overhaul, which he says will cost at least $630 billion. Lawmakers said they feared the effect of such a tax change on charities.
?The Senate sent a clear message to the president,? said Senator Bob Bennett, a Utah Republican who sponsored the amendment. ?Charities benefit greatly from the donations made by individuals in this income bracket, and raising taxes on these contributions would be a disservice to Americans and the millions of charities across the country.?

If an iPod is 'thinking outside the box' and this is the kind of Change that I heard about for the past year than this iPod is a bigger deal than I could have even imagined.

Yeah, thanks to you.
Only my comments were not directed toward anyone at this message board unlike yours. I assumed that wasn't tolerated since it didn't do anyone here any good.
Maybe you assumed wrong.....
Think about that next time you wanna post stupid shit like that.

I don't know how old the Queen is, but to me she doesn't seem like the typical iPod user, so yeah.....
Regarding the video on it, maybe it was just put there to show her that it holds video too.
Maybe she would've preferred Twilight on there, who knows.

I'm not Change hungry, and frankly if I was I'd be terrified. Durring the election I thought he was completely unqualified for the position due to his total lack of leadership experience. IMO his first 100 days in office have done nothing to prove to me that my initial impression was wrong.
To be fair, I wouldn't expect anyone to make major headway in the first 100 days... So I'm not looking for sweeping change or miracle cures for the ailing economy... but I do expect that he can preform simple diplomatic tasks or put a team in place that can properly vet cabinet appointees. Regarding the cabinet... 1 tax evader shame, on them... serveral tax evaders, shame on you.
So yes, the iPod is knit picky, the DVD's are knit picky, the cabinet issues are knit picky, the Winston Churchill Bust issue is knit picky, But when does this end?? After a while, if it quacks like a duck...

I would love to see what would have happened if W. gave her an iPod when she visited America last year. Or if Tony Blair was given The Incredible Hulk Season 1 on DVD after 9/11

He screwed the DVD's up so I guess he needed to screw his gift for the Queen up as well.
Damn this is some funny shit. I'm guessing Repubs on this board would like to critisize Obama's performance on the economy but there ain't much to say. Hence this shit.

What performance on the economy? There is nothing good or bad... it's been 100 days. Like I said above, maybe individually each of these items could be considered knit picking, but it has been one thing after another. There hasn't been enough time to make major changes, but there has been more than enough time to see a patern of bad decisions.

iPod Giftcards and the latest Kanye album? Or did he send the Resolute Desk back?
Seriously though... the iPod kind of takes the luster of the signed rare song book. I'm sure just to make it even cheesier he loaded all the songs from the book on the iPod (seems like a great idea for a high school graduation)

Because the far-right want to change the subject from them being the cause of this economic mess. So they demonize Obama, Barney Frank, or anyone else on the left for the most petty shit.
