I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that you were a certified soothsayer! My sincere apologies, of course!
Ah yes, the name calling begins. Your just like the others. I thought maybe we could have an level-headed argument without it leading to name calling.

Do you even know what a soothsayer is?
Oh no, how horrendous, I called you psychic! Stop the press!
Yes, and I am highly insulted by the use of "others" !!!!!
I hate being lumped in with those crazy ass Libs! JK!
My point (while yes, wrapped in sarcasm-I don't deny), is that you have preconceived notions about what the administration will do and have already convinced yourself that you will disagree. Way to keep an open mind. Why would you wish anyone to fail? Do you not want the country to prosper and rebuild foreign relations that have been trashed into the ground?
Are you currently a fly on the wall in the White House and are able to predict Obama's every move? You initial statement was ridiculous, therefore my response was equally so.
I can't have a rational debate with someone who's already made their final decision and doesn't even know the outcome yet.

Obama has already proven himself to be more fiscally conservative than his predecessor by calling for a cut to government budgets today. I'd think most
true
conservatives would actually applaud this move. Guess not.

What disturbs me the most are the people who just want him to fail, as if that doesn't mean some bad stuff for most of us as well. I suppose Limbaugh's fat ass doesn't have to worry about that, so what the fuck does he care, right?

I have judged on moves he has already made so far. Like him bringing Clinton and all the other 'same bullshit different era' people back to the forefront of his administration. Has if the American people had not had enough of the Clintons already? All it seems he's doing his regurgitating old Washington assholes full of corruption. But that's just one of many of his moves I disagree with so far.

Your right and I don't think anyone really wants him to fail as a President. They may hope his policies fail; what I mean in that is that they do not pass congress. I don't think conservative people unless they're just ignorant etc.. hate the man or democrats in general they just do not want certain policy enacted or even entertained. It goes both ways. Yet I saw more personal hate for President Bush with his admins policies.... If people do not realize this than they shouldn't post on politics. How can you wish for your own President to fail? Wouldn't that mean you would fail or see hardship for fellow citizens as well? It's Common Sense! I was referring to Free and Bandita....

Drew you may be right as well but it's only been 1 day. Let's see wear the former Clinton and present Clinton team goes. There are always the same faces in and around D.C. in every administration. Time will tell and if things aren't going well, in 2 years there will be new faces in congress because of it.

I think there are areas where it's ok and not ok to want any leader to fail. I may not like the Iraq war, but I hardly wanted Bush to fail (i.e. to not come up with a good strategy) because that meant casualties to our troops, increasing war costs...in other words, things that harm America. Similarly, I wouldn't want to see the economy continue to get worse, no matter who is President (even though it likely will before it gets better).
Now, if conservatives and/or Republicans disagree with some things, that's expected. But they shouldn't want the economy to go completely in the tank, for example, so that Obama looks bad and they get elected next opportunity.
I disagreed very strongly with some of Bush's choices. But I never wanted him to fail just so I could say "told ya so!" (at least on major issues, economy, war, etc.).

One of the main reasons I didn't support Hillary Clinton in the primaries was because I think these elite, political families we're creating are troubling. But given that, I'm willing to bet anything that if she had been the Democratic nominee she'd now be our President (especially if she had picked Obama for VP). And even if I'm wrong about that, she'd still have gotten in the range of 55-60 MILLION votes. I realize that this is based on a "what if" so it cannot be proven, but after eight years of GWB, I think most people look fondly on the Clinton years and, truly, the biggest "what if" in America is named Al Gore.
Anyway, I can't imagine I'll agree with everything Obama does, and when I don't I'll call him on it. To begin, I have objections to some of the privacy that might be lost in the Employee Free Choice Act, which I know is a big goal for labor organizations at this time.

You stated on the previous page that you would disagree with his actions in the FUTURE. I'm curious as to exactly how you know what they will be. The man has been in office for 24 freakin' hours. As much as you may personally dislike the Clintons, many, many people do not agree with your assertation.

Funny that you mention this-
In my line of work (HR), this is something we have received copious amounts of paperwork on recently. I am quite against it. I suppose in theory it would seem good for employees but the overall strain it could cause already suffering private businesses would be disasterous.
No one can agree with someone else 100 percent of the time but that doesn't mean the overall job they are doing or going to do is bad.

Many people agree with my Clinton point. I'm also scared of and greatly disagree with this $850 billion "stimulus" bill.

Darn you Bandita! Stop dropping the f-word ("future teller" that is) and the s-word ("soothsayer" of course)...
Drew, I feel sorry for you buddy. Say hi to Hannity for me.
Try something out. Try pointing out a couple of things you like, and then balance that out with what you don't. It's hard to have a convo with somebody that apparently finds nothing positive when it comes to our president. I'll stay away from what I've been on the receiving end for many years and refrain from telling you, "If you don't like him just leave the country!" Yeah, it sure sounds silly, doesn't it?

On a serious note, I think I understand your point in regards to what I said before about my dislike for B.O. and his administration continuing. I meant my dislike of who he is and what his resume has been up until now. I don't agree with his policies and some of his issues he stands on. I cannot see the future nor do I know how things are going to turn out for this country. I just don't see my opinion for him changing in the coming days, weeks, months, or years.

Of course you don't. What was W.'s support like 'round the time of the invasion of Iraq? Pretty damn high wasn't it? Can you believe the folks you like to call "libs" supported W in droves? Yes, there was a time...
I initially supported W's decision to go into Iraq...I supported Bush's brave stance on the immigration issue...and I liked his condemnation of steroid use in baseball...I think he's genuinely a nice guy who'd make a good neighbor, maybe have him over for barbeque...his wife seems very nice as well, she's classy but seems fairly down to earth...he's a good dad...he's physically fit, and I respect that kind of role model in a grossly overweight nation.
see Drew, it's not that hard to be nice!

Hey nice to see you finally come around...This is something that has actually disturbed me for the past 8 years....but it didn't seem to bother most of you then...hmm what has changed since then?
better get used to it though...the left wing media crucified Bush on EVERYTHING over the past 8 years, and now they are blowing Obama before he has done anything...Do you really expect guys like Limbaugh to let that slide?
That is the problem though, people are not interested in whats best for the country...its if THEIR side wins and has power... while he made mistakes and was far from the best president ever, George Bush did alot of good for this country and most democrats will NEVER admit that...just like im sure Obama will do some good things that the right will never give him credit for...thats just the way it goes...But it is nice to see some of you as outraged as I am when an American roots for the president to fail....I will never root for Obama to fail...I hope I vote for him in 2012 because that would mean he did one hell of a job..
on a side note, this over the top press coverage was probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life. Although I did enjoy the man on the street interviews at the innauguration where something like 182 consecutive people when asked had no idea who the vice president was going to be, i believe the closest person said Joe Bidwell..I guess some things in America never change....

The press has gotten out of hand with all of this....in particular MSNBC, their coverage of Obama was like watching Entertainment Tonight! I understand the historic significance of the moment, but that has past and now it is time to tackle the daunting task ahead. Not gonna be easy, ever seen this many problems face a new president? - We'll see what he is made of pretty quickly....
