That statement really bothers me.  People watch music videos all the time on YOUTUBE.   Videos on demand?  You don't have to wait for them to play or request them.  I watch videos all the time on youtube.  I love GNR and CD regardless of a video or not..  To say that no one watches music videos is ignorant.

look how Pearl Jam fell of after they stopped making videos...   They always did keep a loyal core fan base.  Sort of like we are to GNR now.

Pearl Jam fell off because the music got horrible.  Back when I listened to new rock radio I remember feeling each record post '95 was worse than the one before it.

No, they still went multi-platinum after Ten, and that was the only album they made videos for until 1998. They only started falling off in '95, when grunge died.

Maybe album wise they fell off, but tour wise they are still HUGE!!!  they can play multiple nights at madison square garden easily!
(personally i am not a huge fan of a lot of their recent studio work but i liked the last album)

a good videa can be a superb compliment to a song

Good bands use videos as ways of visualising the music - its much more than a crude promotional tool

Videos are great I still watch them.    I think the problem is channels that are supposed to play videos don't play them as often or barely at all nowdays.
