I've heard it said artisits make more money off of touring than their cd's.  I don't know, is that right?

I was wondering what other ways of making money like music for commercials, movies and such there is for a musician.  And of those how they rank as far as putting more money in the artisit pocket?

Anybody know?  Granted there are contracts and other folks taking their piece but just in general.

you real can't say which is more , cause some bands do better in some departments then other.

CD's are probable pretty low on the scale though. most bands only see a few cents per dollar on the sales of Cd's.

as for songs on Tv shows and movies. I know puff daddy got something like 500k for that song for Godzilla ten years ago.f
