I am thinking about purchasing a wirless system for my les paul epiphone.  I was wondering what are the best brand's ? any suggestions ?

Right now and I mean, at this moment; and affordable for you would be the X2 wireless. It doesn't operate on the UHF or VHF bands like other wirelesses so you are not fighting for a good signal.  The down side is there are only 6 channels so only six can be used at the same time.
