Robin Finck
Buckethead and Bumblefoot have some jaw-droppingly incredible solos- but it's Robin's soulful, heartfelt, emotion-filled playing that makes this a true Guns N' Roses album IMHO. He channels a "Slash" feel w/o being a blatant rip off- and he has his own modern sound too. Robin was the absolute right guitarist to match up with Axl at this point in Axl's career IMHO. I really pray Axl finds a way to get him on-board for the next tour.
ALL the guitarists have great moments on this album though.

Robin steals the show. His solos are so emotionally powerful, and his guitar is the equivalent to Axl's voice, they meld so well. Awesome guy, though everyone really shines throughout...

I don't know if I'd give him the "MVP"... but I was suprised to see "Tobias" under my 3 favourite songs on the album: TWAT, Catcher in the Rye & Prostitute.

Hard to believe in just a couple years he'll be hitting his 20 year anniversary as a gunner.

Axl and Bucket. Ron gets the "6th man" award, he came in during the fourth quarter and did some great things in the clutch

Buckethead, Paul and Pitman are the MVP's of CD *Axl is the given of course*
Ron is a cool guy but I do prefer Bucket's playing to all the other guys. when he shreds, u hear every note and it takes u places emotionally that most shredders dont. He also can knock out the amazing If The World style and the Sorry solo which is amazing.
I always thought Bucket was the one guy who could make people get over the top hatted icon that once held the post.
That being said, If the guys no longer chose to be in GNR, there is nothing Axl could do about it, so it definitely isn't his fault.
u can't make somebody stay if they dont want to.

The main vote goes to Axl. For sure..
I would have strong second place for Mr. BuckeHead. He wrote some very strong music on this album. GNR was lucky to have him.

Buckethead. He really really impressed me on this album. Bucket's work and the drumming made this a monumental album. That's not taking into account the writing of the songs, just the performance

I went with Finck (above)... but some of you guys are right... Bumblefoot is definitely worthy of an "honorable mention". He really sleazed up a bunch of these tracks (in classic GN'R fashion) with some phenomenal rhythm work. Great solos on "Shackler's Revenge" and "Riad & The Bedoins" too...

I dunno. The original Rhiad solo was damn good before Thal did anything. Bucket should get as much credit as Bumble.
The Shackler's solo probably was a re-do of Bucket's work as well.

The Buckethead solo on "Riad" was definitely good already- BUT I actually prefer Bumblefoot's new solo though.
