I want Bucket back for sure. But I like Ron too, I just don't know if Guns could handle both on one stage. A little too much shredding for me. ...Well thinking about it I think I could take it, if that's what it took to get Bucket back.
Thank Bucket,
I just don't see Buckethead ever coming back. He seems pretty set in his own ways and is probably enjoying the freedom he has... not that he still couldn't do what he wants if he did come back, but I just don't see it happening.
If Bucket came back, I definitely wouldn't mind... but with Ron now in the band, do we really need him??
I do appreciate the work he did on the album, as many of you do... he's a great, great, great fucking guitar player.

yeah, well i think you're a poor little fool if you think it's okay to pretend like you're part of a band, only to bail at the most important moment. but it all worked out... axl got a much cooler guitarist in bbf, and bucket was able to promote all ten thousand of his solo albums because of axl's legacy.

Bucket had many records out and a loyal following long before GNR knew who he was. If he stabbed Axl in the back, why did GNR try to get him to return prior to the 06 tour? Explain that one buddy! Bucket is amazing and he needs to be brought back,ASAP.

why are you trying to start shit with me man? how do you know axl wanted him back so badly? and if he did, maybe it's just so axl didn't have to teach yet another guitarist how to play all the old and new songs. and even if bucket had a following before axl, he had a bigger following after. that's what happens when you associate yourself with a legend.
but why are you going on and on about bucket? he's gnr past. maybe you should start a fan club for bucket if you love him so much more than axl.
the truth is that bucket's betrayal could be seen as costing axl money in record sales. with each year, fewer and fewer people buy albums because it's easier to steal. so imagine if axl had actually been able to put this album out back in the buckethead era. when bucket took the money and ran, axl was left holding the bag. he had to get another guitar player and finish the album on his own. and cancel shows. years late,r the industry was different. but buckethead made out fine because he got all the publicity he needed for his little solo career. honestly, i really do think axl should sue bucket. he fucked this release as much as dr. pepper.

You crack me up dude. It has been written that GNR tried to get Bucket back. Also, in case you didn't know this is a Bucket thread. If he comes back will you jump on the bandwagon again? Bucket is all over ChiDem so I wouldn't say he is GNR past just yet.
Sue Bucket?LOL, for what? Bucket was around when most of these songs were written. It isn't like they had some massive creative storm when Bucket left. Sue,Bucket? Sir, thanks for the laughs. You really think Bucket is the reason this album didn't come out? You can't be serious.

Ok put yourself in his shoes. First of all, you're recruited as THE lead guitarist for GNR. After finishing recording, another inferior guitarist comes in (Robin) and re-records some of your parts you worked hard on. Meanwhile, the bands' leader is nowhere to be found, only coming into the studio once in a blue moon at 3am. So you take it on the chin and keep recording and get the album finished. 3 years later, there's still no sign of the album coming out.
I'd leave if it were me, even Robin had enough at the end.
So tell me: how is that stabbing Axl in the back?

I don't think it was malicious between the two or whatever. They just wanted different things. Buckethead loves performing his own material, and makes new albums left and right. He's eccentric, and so is Axl, but in different ways.
Axl put out one album in 15 years, and Bucket'll put out 15 albums in one year.
I'd love to see him come back. Hopefully, with Brain.

did bucket betray axl to further his career? did bucket trade on axl's legacy for promotion? did he disappoint axl, the band and the fans? hmm... on one hand, i've got some buckethead worshipers telling me one thing. and on the other hand i've got the word directly from AXL ROSE himself. sorry guys, but i trust axl over you any day...
The band has been put in an untenable position by guitarist Buckethead and his untimely departure. During his tenure with the band Buckethead has been inconsistent and erratic in both his behavior and commitment - despite being under contract - creating uncertainty and confusion and making it virtually impossible to move forward with recording, rehearsals and live plans with confidence. His transient lifestyle has made it impossible for even his closest friends to have nearly any form of communication with him whatsoever. Last time I talked to Bucket, he called to tell me he had bought a bootleg DVD off EBay and how proud he was to be in Guns and how impressed he was with everyone's performance. Then, in February we got word from Brain that Bucket had called him and said he was back in Guns!? Apparently, according to Bucket he had been "Gone" but had turned himself around and was really excited to do Rio-Lisbon and a European tour. Somewhere in the following month things changed once again.
According to those who have actually spoken with Buckethead it appears his plans were to secure a recording contract with Sanctuary Records which I encouraged my management to make available to him, quit GN'R and to use his involvement in the upcoming Guns release to immediately promote his individual efforts...Nice guy!
T
here is not a member of this camp that is not hurt, upset and ultimately disappointed by this event, and more to the point - if not this individual, certainly this individual's choices. Regardless of anyone's opinions of me and what I may or may not deserve, clearly the fans, individuals in this band, management, crew and our support group do not deserve this type of treatment. We as a whole, definitely feel that we afforded Bucket every accommodation perhaps so much so that it may be that we or more precisely, I may have done Guns a disservice and unintentionally allowed Guns to be put in this position.
On behalf of Guns N' Roses and myself I apologize to the fans who planned to see us at Rock In Rio - Lisbon. The festival and its tradition mean a lot to me personally and I sincerely do not enjoy being robbed by one of our own of the opportunity to be the first artist to play it for the third time. I would also like to express my gratitude to those who chose to embrace Buckethead's role in Guns and support our new line up. We greatly appreciate Bucket's contributions and remain open to "discussions" as there are obviously several issues to resolve. In the meantime rather than dwelling on the negative, Guns will be moving forward and surprisingly (without giving away any details) this unfortunate set of circumstances may have given us the opportunity to take our recording that one extra step further. Regardless we hope to announce a release date within the next few months.
Sincerely,
W. Axl Rose

Obviously Axl still likes/respects Bucket and there is not bad blood from his side. I'm sure he was initially pissed off that Bucket left but obviously he has gotten over it. Buckethead's picture is next to Axl's in the book, he left almost all his parts intact. It would be awesome if Bucket came back into the fold now that things are rolling, him, Ron and Richard sharing the stage would be nuts

bucket and ron are completely different guitar players and wouldn't get in each others way,
cause there playing style is completely different,
if you watch a buckethead show you would see this..
I hope to see him, Ron and Richard in the 09 lineup.

i already did buy it, thank you. and i can understand how axl can be thankful for bucket' smusic but still recognize that he's a deceptive snake who was trying to use axl's fame and reputation to further his career. in case you missed it, axl explained it perfectly well in his press release. when he said bucket was a 'nice guy' it was pure sarcasm. please read that press release before running your mouth off.
personally, i think it speaks volumes and volumes about axl's great personality that even after being stabbed in the back by bucket and having to cancel shows and rerecord music, he still thanks him for the work that he did. axl shows who is the bigger man.

Clearly if you knew anything about Buckethead you would realize you are spewing bullshit. His CD's aren't selling any better or worse than before. He's not playing in front of HUGE crowds that come to see him because he was in Guns n Roses. He plays small 100-200 TOPS, shows. He always came out with tons of cd's and continues to do so. I don't think there was a malicious intent to stop CD from coming out. Sure, he's different, so what, doesn't mean he did it all on purpose. You are just stupid and ignorant and looking for a reason to hate Buckethead, who is by far the most talented and diverse guitar player alive, imo.

Right. I saw him at Mississippi Nights two years ago, because back then was into his music for his music. The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock was easily my favorite CD at that time. The crowd wasn't bigger than 100 people. He likes it that way too. He can be himself.

Agree 100%
I would love to see him and Ron share the same stage some day.. like at one of their solo shows or something. Just imagine how well they would play off each other.
