The release of Chinese Democracy marks the end of an Era in Guns N' Roses history.

When I listen to CD I can't help but wax nostalic

The truth is the truth hurts - We don't know who will be on stage the next time we see Gun N' Roses live.
But that's okay.  Lets celebrate what we been blessed with.

Guns N' Roses for the past decade has simultaneously defied and re-defined every natural law - from evolution to revolution....
From the release of Oh My God  to the HOB and RIRIII and the Joint gigs, the '02 Tour up to MSG, Hammerstein Ballroom, and the 06-07 Tour and now the release of CD!!

We've seen some amazing performers and some unforgettable performances - Axl... Izzy!  Robin Finck and Buckethead going INSANE on the end of Paradise City...
With the release of CD we can tip outhat to Chris Pittman and Paul Tobias - perhaps the most underappreciated of the past Era (til now)....
edited to add: George (Chin)...   Sean (Beavan) I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting  -  feel free to add!

I tried to express this in a previous post (which was apparently misunderstood and mis-categorizied)
I hope its not because someone feels there's something wrong with recognizing that the release of CD marks the END of an ERA
When Axl takes the stage again or tells us what's next (or who knows what?) we'll have the beginning of a new Era - but right now...   this is where we are.  At the end of a long road.  A trip we have enjoyed and are now having a grand Reward - CD and I am very happy with it as I see we all are.

I'm not being sad.  I am being rightfully nostalgic because those years will never be again.  The 98-08 Era of the Guns N' Roses will never be again...
no more than the Hollywood/AFD Era or Illusions Era could be re-created.

And I'd like to hear from you all - your thanks to Axl, Buckethead, Chris, Robin, Josh, Brain....   Paul, Dizzy, Tommy, Merck, Doug, Del, Robert, Beta...  Richard, Ron, Frank...
everyone who has been a part of Guns N' Roses and in the GN'R camp who has contributed to bringing us fans a very unique Era in the History of Guns N' Roses....

What do you guys think it will be known as?  I'm thinking the Vegas/ CD Era?   hehe  peace

This is a new chapter in the Guns N' Roses era. I call it out with the old in with the new.  These members have worked their tail off, making this album and its a great one indeed.

The thing is, Axl kept grabbing headlines when he wasn't releasing albums, or even touring. Who can do that? It goes to show how fascinating he is and how devoted fans are to him.

Don't ask what your country can do for you, ask what your country can do for GNR!

The song credits in the booklet really is like a teeny tiny pin-hole view into the past decade!

With all that we did know and were shown on stage and heard here and there....
there was always so very much more going on that we had no idea about!
