But you mentioned that this interview was conducted in October.  Could it be that they still considered Robin on board then and things have changed recently?  Based on the Myspace page and BF's comments it would appear that Robin is no longer part of the touring band.

Yeah, I most definitely think he could have been. I was just saying that so people don't assume this interview was conducted a few days ago or something to that effect.

I possibly might not have caught this, but what were Ron's comments?

Out of the shadows, into...Hell?

yeah but he read it im still surprized.

On topic, I wonder if Richard suffering from the 'afraid to comment' bug that BBF seemed to have around the same time...it is pretty clear that Robin was out, even in October, although not 'official'.

Pretty clear?  Clear as mud.  Official is the only thing that matters as we see with words like "tentative" and "soon."
Based on the 'Robin leaving/just touring' thread I would have to say that there are obvious differences of opinion on the subject...to me it was clear from the Press Release/web story from the band that he was out, again, at least temporarily...there are still people who think he is in...we will see when they tour.  I for one want to hear him play the TIL solo live. ok

Agreed on the This I Love solo.  It would be a shame to have someone else play that solo.  It is epic.

I remember being shocked when Guns announced their line-up shortly before the New Year's show and RIR III in 2001 and Robin was once again on board. I strongly suspect that we will see the same thing happen again in 2009.

The NIN tour is finally winding down next month and drawing sparse crowds in some markets (despite being a great show by all accounts) to boot. There is a rumor that Trent himself feels like it's time for the band to get off the road. I have a haaaaaaaaaaard time believing that Finck (barring some kind of personal fall out with Axl) is going to want to hang out in Trent's studio (if he let's him in) while Chinese Democracy is unleashed on the masses. I think GN'R would love to have Finck back (again barring some kind of personal disagreement with Axl) for their tour as well. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Same here.  It makes no sense to want to leave with this kind of music coming out.  But it's his loss

again, from some random dude at mygnr

"Fortus worked with Brain, Freese, and Stinson previously. Flew to LA to audition all in one day while touring Europe in 2002. First time he met Axl, jammed and stayed up all night talking to him. A very loyal friend. Fortus is from St Louis, which is funny since they won't play in St Louis. Axl does not want to go to St Louis, and Axl wants nothing to do with SLPD. Fortus mentioned talking with Axl about a Free Tour of all the cities where GNR riots occured, as a way to make amends jokingly. He believes that Axl could get over that and play again in St Louis.

Strange question for October...interviewer asks Fortus about CD coming out at the beginning of the year....Fortus corrects him saying that it IS COMING out next month. The interviewer still wasn't sure about Best Buy or WalMart deal

FORTUS DOES SAY IT WILL ONLY BE AT BEST BUY FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS. He says November 25th is the release date

Favazz believed the album would be all industrial. Fortus said none of the leaks were final mixes, except for SR on RB2.

Fortus did not read Slash's book. He says no one in the band (Axl) liked the book tho, he heard. Favazz asks about the shows starting late, which is one reason why Slash left.

Fortus says it takes Axl "time" to go on-stage which is why they go on late at times. Fortus thinks part of it was on purpose to get the crowd in a frenzy.

Acception of the new members have been slow, but they are won over by show end. Mentioned as part of the crowd throwing things (Donnington).

Slash is never forgotten - a genius - amazing. Some fans have accepted the new band, and some hate it. Different sounding band, but a kick ass band.

members: Finck, Dizzy, Izzy occasionally, Tommy Stinson, Brain played on the record but Ferrer has been playing (former member with Fortus in Furs).

Fortus tells Favazz that he is talking to Axl about playing St Louis. He does confirm touring in 2009.

More talk about the Pale Devine reunion"

There's a quote here from Fortus that Brain plays on the record - I thought Frank had re-recorded the parts?

I am yet to read the liner notes for the CD.

Brain plays on most of the songs. 'Chinese Democracy' is the only song Frank plays alone on. There's some songs both of 'em have recorded.

Not only a shame... but a CRIME. It would be terrible if Finck finally has his GN'R "guitar god" moment for all to hear and he's MIA. That song and that solo will be huge. For a guy who's taken so much abuse from much of the GN'R community- he really deserves that moment in the sun in a live setting across the globe. I really hope Axl finds a way to get him on board for the tour. smoking

It would be nice if Robin were to be a constant in the GN'R world. He brings such an energy to the band and has the ability to become one of the greats. That and I want to have a Guitar World with him, Fortus and BF on the cover (come on Guitar World, make it happen!).

Even though Robin is the lead guitarist of the band, techincally speaking anyway, I feel like Bumblefoot gets too many solos for him to retain that title.
