I bought a turntable because of Chinese Democracy, but I plan to start buying some vinyls now. My turntable came today, but I don't have a single vinyl to play on it. Still waiting on my CD vinyl to ship (delayed in Canada).

I need to replace the one that I had that died 2 years ago. But now I have a little more motivation. Curious if the difference between vinyl and the CD is noticeable.

I haven't yet, but I will be in a month or two (also buying a brand new speaker system to go along with it, hence the delay in getting it)

ive always had a deck to play my vinyl.......... whats the point in collecting vinyl if you can't enjoy it now and then  ok

kinda comes in useful when grading my collection too  Wink

I didn't notice a   free digital download offer in my vinyl copy. Did I miss it? Where should I look for it? Was it ever there? Maybe it's just the vinyl bought at Bestbuy that includes this offering?
Besides that my vinyl was a dissapointment with only black innersleeves and not half the info,artwork and pictures that was included in the cd-booklet did I get a bad copy  or what? I have two more which I have not opened and since I have plans for them as gifts any info on the free download would be appreciated. But I guess I'll have to buy more cd's  anyway to give away with the vinyl so the people can read the lyrics hihi

I was a bit disappointed that the vinyl did not have lyrics on the record sleeves as the AFD and the Illusion albums did.

Make sure you check inside the sleeves.  It should be on a piece of paper inside the sleeves.  It took me a few minutes to find.   ok

There should've been a sticker on your plastic wrap that said "includes free digital download"

In the sleeve where the album with sides 3-4, underneath there is a slip with the instructions and the code. U can't miss it but u have to pull the albums out.

So does the vinyl sould better? Generally, I have found vinyl to sound superior to CD, almost like listening to a completely different master, but these days vinyl just seems to be an afterthought and can end up sounding horrid. With the various complaints about the booklet, the promotion and certain aspects of the production, did they at least manage to get the vinyl right, or am I going to have to play my own copy to find out?  nervous

missing out on the download didn't really matter cos its so easy to rip the cd and convert it to different formats anyway........its just something that would have been cool to have........

I opened mine today. Was going to keep it sealed but figured I spent the $20 might as well get the download so I can listen to it on my PC in hi quality and not have to get the CD out of the vehicle back & forth each day. ( the myspace streams don't sound as good)

Sooner or later I will get a turntable and Ill end up playing the vinyl to check out the sound difference.

Who needs a digital download that only has the Vinyl?

I've got an extra slip. I bought the Vinyl, got my digital download, realized it had a few skips in it, exchanged it, and now have an extra access code for the digital download.

If yours didn't have a slip, and you don't have the album digitally, I'll shoot you this code.
