It's right before the drums kick in

What really anoyed me was that there was an article in a British newspaper that said it was about her. They don't know that, and it will give the media more BS to spread.

Well, that British newspaper has its facts wrong!

She is so insignificant in Axl's life...

Who wrote that BS article?

Now if the the Bristish paper had any inkling of the real story - then, that would be some scoop!  hihi

^ Indeed.

IMO, the solo is the one most alike his stage sound, with the hot tone and sharp overdrive. Love it. Smiley

Wonder when this solo was recorded...

it`s most likely either catcher in the rye or shackler`s revenge

It's just further proof that Axl's one of those artists who doesn't pretend.

The emotions are delivered with just a piano and his vocals and then further enhanced when the rest of the instruments kick in.

It's kinda simplistic, but that's all that's needed to paint the picture.

Then who is this song about?

He writes about stuff so other people can relate to it.
Maybe it's not even about anything personal to him, or who knows. I don't think it's about someone actually.

A lot of the things in the song can be symbols and metafores.

I think it's about getting old/damaging your look.
While the passion and love won't die it gets harder to connect and express as you get older, disgusting and uglier. nervous

"She" is our own and his personification (inner and outer) of himself/ourself, which we hold very dear to us. friendly

When it's gone, it's over and we feel less alive. My take on it peace

Interesting take but I do believe this song especially is very personal and is definitely about someone.

I first thought it was about his mother but the lines "you make me feel so alive" etc doesn't fit.
