People keep comparing this song to Andrew Lloyd Webber, but that seems a bit off to me.  It actually sounds astonishingly like some of the instrumental music from Bricusse and Wildhorne's JEKYLL & HYDE, which, coincidentally, Sebastian Bach starred in on Broadway.  Small world, eh?

Emotion takes the place of big production on this track.

Tear inducingly beautiful song. Just like November Rain and Estranged before it, this is Axl at his most open. I think we all have or have had someone in our life who we wished could hear these exact words, and that's the beauty of this song.

This I love is one of best traks I heard from Guns and out there in general. Indeed so deep and emotional. However, a Belgium newspaper (De Morgen), which has a very good name for it's content and quality, only give the album a 2 on 6 or so and the song 'This I Love' is being described as 'one of the worst song ever'...  Huh

I think This I Love could of been another good album closer if it was last in the tracklist...

Its a great song no doubt.

To everyone who thinks that the wive's and girlfriends will love this song, my wife hates it.  And she loves all the older GnR and some of the newer stuff.  But she can't stand how is voice sounds in the beginning.  And I have to agree.  His voice tone is nothing like patience or November Rain.  He sounds out of key half the time.  And before anybody gets all defensive.  I saw Gnr in 01, 02, and 06.  And I thought 06 Axl sounded the best.  I know C.D. is musically different than the old stuff, but I thought he would still be able to sing like he used to.  BTW, Sorry is my favorite track on C.D. , and TIL will never be anything like Estranged or November Rain, not even in the same stratosphere.  We all are the diehards, the general public will not like the majority of the ballads on this record.

Listening to this song now, love it as always.

So glad it didn't leak out.

Honestly, I would an entire album with this kind of production.

The song is perfect. The solo is a little sharp, but fits I think. I have NO complaints in the end.

The best song on this CD. Such a masterpiece. Please God let it be a single. It is untouchable.

Love the smooth guitars in the middle of the song. Awesome.

Robin's solo is stunning, sadly I think it's another reason why this song won't be played live.

Listen to some of BBF's work - no reason this guy can't improve on Robins solo - let alone just 'copy' it.  4tus and Ron can handle the guitar duties if they need to...but, hopefully there will be 3 when the tour begins.

I am more concerned how the songs with 4 + 5 layers of guitar will sound live.

I think Ron is more than capable of playing this solo, but noone can recreate Robin's soul.

I think Pitman will have a backup plan for the dual layered songs ok hihi

The solo is probably the musical highlight of the album for me.    Its fucking perfect for the song.

As for playing it live, I don't know it seems like it might be a bit of a hard song for Axl to do live because of how heavy the song is emotionally.
