I honestly think this is the best song on the album. I am so glad it didnt leak earlier, as it was such a great suprise. It sounds so fresh and Axl's lyrics are smooth as silk over the piano. AXL = GOD.

I'm going to keep being annoying about this to everyone I know, here and everywhere.
This I Love is the sound a heart makes as it is breaking.

I have always hoped to hear Axl sing in such a raw manner with Piano. And this sound delivers.
Axl voice is incredible on the whole album. Better than ever!!!

I don't get all the hype over this song, its good but nothing amazing to me.
Also the melody. All I can think of is Fry singing "he probably doesn't want me dating her..." from the last episode of Futurama.

The song reminds me of a musical, like Cats or Phantom Of The Opera... and some of the lyrics make me cringe. But a great solo, hopefully the song will grow on me.

This is the one song that has been stuck in my head since I heard it.
What a top notch vocal melody. The piano and string arrangements send chills down my spine.

Yeah, it's the acceptable face of Andrew Lloyd webber-style music(als). Because we all know that ALW has an unacceptable face. The simplicity of the arrangement and production in contrast to some of CDs overblown moments shows that sometimes less really can be more.

Its really hard to hear someone spill their guts like that. Very, very powerful. This song needs to be heard by the masses!

I hate musicals a lot. I don't like how they're sung, I don't like the music, or the lyrics. I just listened to This I Love. It is a song I've anticipated for 15 years and, with some of these reviews comparing it to ALW, I've been dreading it for a week. Anyhow, I thought it was the most beautiful bit of pop music I ever heard--at least since I first heard John Lennon on A Day in the Life or Imagine. No matter what the literary quality of the lyrics, or the style of the music, it hit me deeper than any possible critical reaction. I think the key to the lyrics is how Axl sings them. It goes deeper than figuring what is "good" or "bad" lyrically. He's like any great singer here where the cliches become something profound and tragic when he sings them. You have to listen to the tone of the voice, rather than analyze what he's saying.
